Reflection

 {top, belt: LB | sweater: target | tights: we love colors | boots: nine west}
 Oh, yeah and as far as this outfit goes, the sweater feels like a blanket, it sheds on everything and I just don't care.  Also, the orange belt is my favorite.  It's Thursday, YAY!
With Thanksgiving coming up just two short weeks (TWO! TWO!) weeks from now, it got me to thinking about how super fast 2012 has gone by.  I think it has a lot with getting older, putting value and time and energy in to the right things, etc, etc.  With saying that, I think that 2012 has been my favorite year so far.  I thought that I would accomplish all of these great and amazing things, and I haven't completed that list, just yet.  But I don't regret a day that has passed or a tear that has been shed, or a margarita shared.  I have made some great friends this year, met some blogging friends, lost some real life friends, and rekindled some much missed friendships.  it was a big year in relationships for me! HA!  I know that early November is not the normal time for a year of reflection, that is more of a New Year's resolution kind of thing, but it just feels right.  People have spent the last few days talking about the devastating wrath left by Hurricane Sandy or maybe they are complaining about the outcome of the election (or complaining about the people complaining about the election...) but all it has done is just show me further how much I have to be thankful for.  Some times the realizations just hit you.  I have so much to be thankful for and they all just smacked me in the face.

Day Off Style

 {sweater:  i ♥ ronson, via jc penney | pants: rainbow (!!!!) | top: Calvin Klein | belt: LB | boots: nine west | earrings: target | side braid: my new favorite :) }

Happy Hump Day! I wore this outfit on my off day Monday and it was amazing to take my time getting ready and actually pick out clothes, while sipping coffee.  I have to be AT WORK at 7am on the dot everyday, so I rarely play around in the AM.  Normally, I am lucky if I leave early enough to fly through Starbucks (okay, I make time for this....) but actually cooking breakfast (not a granola bar) and actually seeing sunlight before leaving the house was faaaaaabulous!  Makes me super envious of the full time bloggers who get to look fancy and blog from Starbucks. What a dream!

What is your favorite thing to do with a day off?
I'll admit I snuck in a nap and some Netflix-ing, too.  Ahhh, the life.

Dizzy Dots

 {skirt: tj maxx | chambray top: jcpenney | belt: dots | leopard scarf: target | earrings: simply chic | shoes: payless, old}

....and invisible shoes.  No no, my shoes are not made out of grass.  It just looks that way.
They are actually a really cool alligator looking print with a pointy toe.  But some things just cannot be photographed on a rainy cloudy afternoon in green grass.  This skirt makes me giggle and twirl when I put it on... seriously this cannot be avoided.
Today was my first day going to work since the time change and boy, it is way less depressing than my  previous pitch black commute.  But dark at 5:30 kinda blows.
HAPPY ELECTION DAY 2012! I hope you all have or plan to make it out to the polls today.  I know its a thing in Memphis where bars offer drink specials for those sporting "I VOTED TODAY" stickers!  Good thing I saved mine ;) ;) ;)  But honestly, I take the right to vote very seriously, so make your own decision and make it out today!  XOXO, Bekah.

Bleu Birds

 {bird dress: target | vest: old navy | belt: UO | socks: thrift store sweater sleeves | boots: nine west | bracelet: target}

I guess that spelling the color blue in French makes it more fancy.  And I am all about the fancy.  Can we talk about how much I love this outfit? It kinda came together in a hasty scramble to get ready.  Sometimes the outfits you throw together come out the absolute best.  I wore this to a failed Bunco Sunday that turned in to a boozed up, gossipy, girly Vampire Diaries (seriously, we are obsessed with this show) kind of day.  Sometimes those days can be the best  :)
This super high knee socks used to be old thrift store sweater sleeves, and I'll be honest, I cannot wait to DIY some more.  I plan on living in boots and socks this fall/winter.  I just finished the best four day weekend of my life, seriously the downtime and friend time was just the refresher I needed! I never imagined how happy getting all my laundry done on a Sunday would be!  Also, facing a four day week that starts on a Tuesday ain't so bad either! Happy Monday to all my chickens near and far and I hope your weekend was fabulous! XOXO, Bekah.

Poles and Polls

 {gray top: jcpenny | gingham button up: target | jeans: old navy rockstar | boots: nine west | purse: alice & olivia | earrings, rings: silpada | watch: michael kors}

Happy November, my little chickens!
It feels so good to be back and in action! I hope most of you have been following along as I get back in the swing of things over the next few days.  Clearing the merrymaking cobwebs, if you will!
Fall is very much here in Memphis, and I am breaking out all of my sweaters and layering essentials!  I have my colored tights at the ready, and my army of boots shined and prepped!
-------------------------
Today is technically my Friday, as we are having a four day weekend at school! I have a good friend coming in to town, a precious little boy's 3rd birthday to celebrate, and a Sunday Funday planned with my girls!  Oh, and if you can't see the sticker in the pictures above, I early voted today! Feels good to do my civic duty, and my sister and I had a little too much fun in the line for the polls.  Let's just say there was a Beyonce parody and a man playing golf.
That's all you will get out of me.
