I wore this to a farewell breakfast for a family that is very dear to our hearts, they are moving to Japan! We will miss them so so so much! Then little sister and I hit up the movies so I could see Rock of Ages AGAIN! Seriously, I love it. 80s tunes and a musical? I'm there.
^ Ain't she cute? ^
I am definitely going to miss that little guy.
The movie actually makes me like Tom Cruise, go figure...
I have been pretty obsessed with the hi-low hems trend, pretty much since the second I saw it. However, I was not going to run out and buy the first item I saw. I shopped around, saw a lot of dresses, a few skirts... then I saw this skirt! LOVED IT! It's definitely a statement piece, but I seriously want to wear it every single day. I wore this outfit to go see Rock of Ages and I have been playing the soundtrack continuously since then. So yes, there is a whole lot of obsession going on in my life.
Hello, dearest chickens! I trust that you had a merry weekend and Monday is treating you well! I did a lot of R&R, with a little bubbly, and a lot of family time for Father's Day! I am feeling pretty random today so here's what is on the merrymaking agenda: I bought this new lipstick at Sephora this weekend, and I am currently obsessed with it! It added the much needed POP to my black and white outfit. I know I might be late to the game, but I recently discovered Alabama Shakes and I loooooove them! Thanks to Jess for turning me on to them! (See vid at the end of the post).
My last point of randomness this morning is that I am going to see Rock of Ages (the new movie) tonight and I am so excited. My sister and I are pretty big Julianne Hough fans so we are excited to see her on the big screen again! Anyone seen it? I'm a sucker for a good musical.

The Steve Madden wedges caught my eye on Nordstrom.com, but doing a quick Payless run the other day I found these twins! At less than half the price... Get it!
Last post from the past today, I promise. This is my birthday dress! One of my close friends works at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, and she snagged me a sweet deal on staying in the lap of luxury the night of my 24th birthday! We went to the sunset happy hour on the rooftop (very very windy), then to dinner and more revelry before retiring on to the cloud that is a 5 star hotel's bed.
Do you ever fall in LOVE with a song and then life passes by (like 1.5 years) and then the song plays... BOOM! You are taken right back to the time when the song was new, the feelings were fresh, and the beauty is still there like no time has passed. I'm not alone, right?! I am so blessed that it happened to me today while rocking some shuffle on my laptop this morning. I had to put said song on repeat and just let it all happen (and sing louddd.)
I mentioned a few posts ago that I recently had my first official blogger meet-up with some super fabulous bloggers (Dani, Sarah B, and the other Sarah B.) in New Orleans. Here are some more pictures and fun stuff from that trip!
I was definitely super excited to meet some of my favorite blogging friends in real life. And to be honest... it was like we were all old friends instantly. Sarah B (blonde) met me at the train station and we dove head first in to some margaritas and it felt like home! We did a little shopping and met up with Dani at the airport, where we hid for 30 minutes behind a pole in anticipation of a surprise. We laughed for the rest of the day, schooled Dani on southern cuisine, took a hilarious trip to Sonic, and laughed some more. We left Sarah behind in Baton Rouge and journeyed to NOLA where I showed the girls around my second favorite city and all of the merrymaking that is to be had!
The trip really showed me how much I stinkin love the blogging community. Building real friendships and relationships with people across the country is such a FUN FUN FUN benefit of our hobby! All three girls were precious and I am so glad that we are IRL buddies now too!
Taking jumping pics with Sarah, the professional.

I cannot CANNOT wait for another meet up next year. It is a hard decision,,, CHICAGO, MEMPHIS or LOS ANGELES?! Let's start planning...
Birthday tradition! Or at least now that I have done it twice, it is a tradition!
Last year, I took my birthday pictures in front of this same mural!
I wore this outfit during the day on my birthday to run errands, get my free birthday drink from Starbucks, and drink lots of champagne in my hotel room.
Best birth(DAY) ever! Stay tuned for evening pictures...
Hello good chickens, I am taking today and most of the weekend, and probably Monday off in celebration of my birthday (Saturday!!!!) See you next week.
For those who have not visited the good times city of New Orleans, Louisiana... a hand grenade is the tourist drink of choice. (To many, the one time only drink of choice)
That being said, these are the only outfit pics from my trip because I was a bad blogger and mostly walked around with a drink in my hand & chatting away with some new friends.
Thanks to Dani for snapping these photos! Hope all of my little chickens are having a great hump day!
