Holey Moly

distressed jeans: rainbow (super old)  // booties: lane bryant // color-blocked sweater: old navy //
infinity scarf: target // purse: steve madden

I dug these jeans out of the bottom of my closet the other morning because I needed to wear pants and nothing was winning me over.  I haven't worn these in forever, and I couldn't remember the reason until it was too late.  They have a hole where you do not want a hole, even in distressed jeans.  Such a hole that I have been meaning to patch, but never got around to it.  I find that to be a sad theme with me! I'm not a clothes hoarder by any means, I often give away clothes, but I have a hard time parting with pieces I like, even if they have small holes or missing buttons.

I spent the rest of the day being very careful & made it through the day without incident.
I guess this is my cue to learn how to sew on a button and wear those clothes at the bottom of the rotation.  Life is too short to have holes in your crotch.

Errrr, you know what I mean.

Red Dress & An Army Vest

{dress: target | belt: UO | army vest: old navy | leggings & socks: tj maxx | boots: nine west | sunglasses: michael kors}

This red dress is the sister dress to my birds dress, and looking back now I see that I styled it almost exactly the same way.  Boooooo Bekah! I like the fun print and the vintage cut, but it definitely isn't a dress that can stand alone.  This is the first time that I have actually completed an outfit around it and left the house in it! Have you ever bought something that you were sure you loved at the time of purchase, but then it just hands around in your closet for months without seeing the light of day?  I felt bad for it, I took it home... and I just don't think we feel the same way about each other any more.

I mentioned on Twitter this morning that I am doing a big feature on eyeliner on Matters of Merrymaking in the next week!  I have had the biggest issue finding a good eyeliner (drugstore OR department store) that last through the day without smudging, bleeding, or coming off!  I bought FIVE of the bestsellers at Sephora and I will be doing a test run of each to judge the best.  Keep an eye out for that!
Happy Hump Day!
I hope we make it through! I know I had to get my grande triple latte on this AM!

Poles and Polls

 {gray top: jcpenny | gingham button up: target | jeans: old navy rockstar | boots: nine west | purse: alice & olivia | earrings, rings: silpada | watch: michael kors}

Happy November, my little chickens!
It feels so good to be back and in action! I hope most of you have been following along as I get back in the swing of things over the next few days.  Clearing the merrymaking cobwebs, if you will!
Fall is very much here in Memphis, and I am breaking out all of my sweaters and layering essentials!  I have my colored tights at the ready, and my army of boots shined and prepped!
-------------------------
Today is technically my Friday, as we are having a four day weekend at school! I have a good friend coming in to town, a precious little boy's 3rd birthday to celebrate, and a Sunday Funday planned with my girls!  Oh, and if you can't see the sticker in the pictures above, I early voted today! Feels good to do my civic duty, and my sister and I had a little too much fun in the line for the polls.  Let's just say there was a Beyonce parody and a man playing golf.
That's all you will get out of me.
