tired mondays + boyfriend clothes

{boyfriend cardi: old navy | tee: target | skinnies: gap | clutch: vintage | scarf: rainbow | flats: payless | sunnies: MK}

HI! How was your weekend? I didn't get enough sleep, stayed out too late, and wore very little makeup.  SO UNLIKE ME!!!!!
Pretty fun nail art, eh? They have a real Mulan-inspired color palette.
The weather was really nice on Saturday afternoon, perfect for grabbing a boyfriend tee AND boyfriend cardigan and heading to lunch & the movies with some extremely awesome people.  WHY are the most comfortable and relaxed clothes named after boyfriends? Don't know why, but I will stick with my named-after-boyfriend-clothing.  (Minus boyfriend jeans, this girl is not a fan)

Yes, the picture above is of me cutting loose, naturally.
I hope all of my little chickens had a beautiful weekend.  It went by way way too fast.
This coming weekend is going to be full of so much merriment that I am going to use every night this week to rest up for it!  My bed, DVR, and hot tea collection better watch out: I am coming for you!

in my white tee

{tee: borrowed | maxi skirt: homemade by my mom | necklace: Mama Chickie | shoes: payless}

First things first... I am wearing a plain white tee, along with some other lovelies, at Distinct.Style.Innovation. for Wear It Wednesday.
Love the way it looks, and it was definitely comfy, but I had to hunt this sucker down.
Yep, I did not own a plain white tee.  You think I would considering my affection for boyfriend tees.
I had so much fun dressing this one up!
Moving on... I am happy to mention that following my product review, eShakti has made a generous offer for all of my friends, readers, and chickens! Use the promo code BEKAH0811 and receive $20 off your order.  It's a fabulous deal considering how moderately priced they are to begin with, you are WINNING! Hop on over to eShakti.com and buy yourself something pretty!
which brings me to my next point:
Finally... THE OCTOBER SHOPPING BAN:
dun dun dunnnnnn
I thought it would be a lot harder that it has been.  But then again, it is only October FIFTH.  Instead of pining for a therapy sesh at TJ MAXX, I am making a game out of it.  I am going to see how long I can keep my money in my bank account.  If I can keep a double-digit balance until the 15th, then I have already set a life-time record. I have turned it from a shopping ban, to more of a frivolous spending ban.
I thought I would be more likely to stick to it if I set some concrete ground rules:
1. No clothing/shoes/accessory shopping!
(with the exception of very few Halloween costume tweaks)
2. No beauty products or services!
Meaning: I don't need ANOTHER eyeliner, and I can paint my own nails.
(I think I can, I think I can)
3. No coffee/tea that costs more than $2
I can put the Salted Caramel Mochas on hold and just drink it black.
Right?
4. DISTRACTION, DISTRACTION, DISTRACTION!
 Lastly, when I need want to shop, I will simply read a book, watch a TV show, or go walking.

There you have it folks, a shopping somewhat-of-an-addict's plan to take a break for the month of October and (hopefully) reap some benefits.

I know that my girl Jessica is also doing a shopping ban this month, any other ladies?
Join us and keep me sane! :)

April 7, 2011

red rover, red rover

Things I am excited about:
1. BIG merrymaking surprises coming up for this bloggy blog!
2. The EBEW on April 12, is Maxi dresses and I'm styling up a storm getting ready for it.
3. Spending this weekend poolside, with beverages, of course.
4. Graduating in ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!!
and
5. I made a blog button ------------->
You can find it on my blog sidebar.
Over there. Yep.  On the right.
If you love me and you know it... clap your hands.
...or add my button to your blog

WHAT ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT?
This outfit:
Simple, comfy, and fun.
This was my goal for an outfit that would take me from the office, booking summer camp
field trips, to playing badminton with some friends.

P.S. If you didn't know, my chickens, badminton is a workout-
 especially with 40 mph winds.
That little birdie can fly.

The nail polish on my toes is glitter polish with OPI's Shatter as a top coat.
I love it, you should definitely pick it up.
