Get back, honky cat.

 {tutu dress fabulousness: ASOS | red wedges: payless | belt: torrid | sunglasses: michael kors | clutch: navoh | intial necklace: jewelry nut}

Over the weekend, one of my dreams came true when I went to see Sir Elton John live in concert on Saturday. We had pretty amazing seats behind the stage backstage :) !
If there was ever an occasion for a tutu, this would be it (this was actually my New Year's Dress that never got photographed!)  We walked to Beale Street before the concert for a bite to eat, amid a ton of pre-St. Patrick's Day revelers.  The evening was a true merrymaking success when as a finale Elton and I sang a duet to "Your Song".  Fun was had by all.
Side note: the title of this post is one of my favorite Elton songs, which he did not play.  I will forgive him because he provided a nonstop dance party for 2.5 hours.

 Running in to two of my favorite bloggers downtown? Extra win for the weekend!
Laura (middle) and Colleen aka my blogging soul mates.
Enjoy your Monday, it is back to work for my as Spring Break is now behind us.  Wish me luck and no one mess with me until I have had my venti iced hazelnut macchiato, mmmkay?

At The Baggage Claim

On Friday night, I got a super cool last minute surprise of being invited to the Miranda Lambert concert!  A friend got tickets like 2 hours before show time, so we hopped in the car and went!
(After an emergency dress shopping adventure)
If you're not famil with the fabulously talented and undeniably country crooner...
Watch this video.
And then this one.
I didn't get any pictures of my outfit, because I was just way too excited but here are some of my favorite from Instagram and my camera.

happy friday!

{knit top: tj maxx | dress, as skirt: thrifted | shoes: payless | necklace: crack in the walk | bracelet: dots}

We made it to Friday, little chickens.  Only one more Friday and I am home free for sweet summertime.
I am ready to indulge in my entire closet, break free from my work dress code.  Although it is fun to remix my modest and colorful pieces... a girl likes to style shorts and jeans every now and then.

What do you guys have planned for this weekend? I am literally doing nothing but babysitting and sleeping and kicking some butt in Bunco on Sunday.  Here's to the weekend, have one on me! Cheers!

End of the Year dressing & BSMF pictures

{dress: ross | shoes: payless | necklace: eclectic ornaments | keeping it simple: priceless}

Maybe it's the fact that there are only 2 more weeks (after this one) left in the school year... but I am getting ready in the morning in record time.  Grabbing simple dresses and a necklace, throwing on some comfy sandals, and I am out the door.  Don't worry, I paused to intake coffee and apply BabyLips.  I have cabin fever, but I am not cray cray.

I promised I would show some pics from Music Fest this weekend, and I am not a liar.  I couldn't upload all 100 because you probably don't care that much... but here are some of my absolute positively favorite ones.  ENJOY!

and they were all yellow...

 "When I look at you... a Coldplay song plays in my heart."
(hahahaha)
That's a quote from the new HBO show Girls, that I am not quite sure how I feel about... but quotes like that will surely win me over. I totally meant to post yesterday, but I was busy busy packing for this weekend (choosing outfits for 90 degree weather, while continuously being outdoors is HARD!) and ran out of steam.  I wore this outfit Monday and I am sharing TWO bands I will see this weekend down at the bottom of this post! Hope you guys had a great Wednesday!
The weekend is so close, I can smell it!

What To Wear On Tax Day

Just kidding... I wore this last week-ish.
Doesn't matter.  Tax day has come and gone (so has my refund, BAHHHH!)
But I think that a structured dress and fun accessories are perfect for tax day, whether you are down to the deadline or if you filed that shiz back in February.
I'm hoping to have the most productive week ever full of studying, laundry (must do laundry), and I am working a ton ton!  But don't fret, little chickens, I will throw up some posts along the way.
Cheers!

And I am beyond obsessed with his eyes this song:
Can't lie.

Happy Tuesday.

five (or six) things friday

Insta[week]
-sweet cards
-unexpected finger injuries
-the best easter candy
-personalized coffee
-a new beach hat
A little tuneage for your Friday.
I have this song on repeat.  Not in like a depressing emo way or anything...
It's just haunting and beautiful and free.
Very much looking forward to seeing them (The Civil Wars) here in May.

I have been getting so many sweet emails this week from my readers asking me questions!
I am going to finally get cracking on the FAQ page, so if there is anything you have ever EVER wondered or wanted to ask... now is your chance. (email me!)  Free margaritas for everyone! :)
Have a lovely weekend.
