Lip Gloss Obituary

Many of you are aware of my more recent obsession with Gossip Girl. Mainly, the obsession lies in Blair Waldorf. The clothes, lifestyle, uhumm Chuck Bass, champagne for breakfast is all rather thrilling. As I devoured the last two seasons, I couldn't help but be overcome with curiosity over her lip color worn in a certain scene. I won't preface why she is wearing it- to ruin the episode for you but after some extensive google-ing, I tracked it down to a makeup aisle at my local Walgreens (Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink Pop.) We lived a happy two weeks together. We were inseparable. Until, a dark and rainy night, the last night of 2012. You see, the gloss just tumbled out of my clutch and on to the hard ground where it came apart at its seams. Beautiful, pink gloss all over the ground was such a travesty and I was desperate to save it. Alas, I lost Pink Pop that day. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, MY LITTLE CHICKENS!

Reflection: 2012 was one of the best years of my life. I accomplished a lot of little goals and met some amazing people. I rekindled some precious friendships that I cannot imagine living without. I got a new outlook on the world. I cried a lot, I laughed way more. I toasted many beautiful weddings, lost some dear family, and really discovered a lot about myself in the process. 2012 was a year of learning. I wouldn't take back one single day. I didn't accomplish everything I wanted to and I cannot believe how fast this year flew by. I will cherish you forever, 2012.

Resolution: I think that writing down goals, big or small, is imperative to keeping to them. Last year, I noted a few goals I wanted to work harder on in the new year. For the most part, I attempted to stay true! I read FIFTEEN books this year thanks to my ever dependable kindle fire. I rarely ever drink cokes anymore, replaced that vice with Starbucks coffee. I didn't learn how to sew, I didn't take a vacation in the mountains... But the beach sure didn't suck. Some things I want to get done in 2013 include but are not limited to:

1. Continue blogging, obvi. (My blog turned two in December!)
2. Be more frugal with purchases. Step one: shopping ban!
3. Cook more. Try new recipes. Actually grocery shop.
4. Go on more random adventures alone.
5. Join a gym! I still wanna run that 5k!

Post-Christmas Coma

HELLO DEAR CHICKENS!!!

I have spent the last few days since Christmas relaxing, watching lots of television, and lounging in my new Christmas onesies! (Seriously beyond comfortable.)

Friday Favorites: Holiday Song Collection

It's so crazy how many holiday songs get stuck in your head when you are power shopping for some important gifts for your loved ones. I am kinda obsessed with Shazam-ing the new tunes and adding them to my holiday playlists. But... Lets not forget the importance of a classic. The weather has hit the below freezing mark and I have discovered the utmost importance of layering this season!  Although, I did have to shed one layer by lunchtime, just to put it back on around four.  Silly winter.  Only 5.5 school days until the sweet relief that is Christmas break (sorry in advance to all of my 9-5ers out there.)  How is everyone's Christmas shopping coming along?
