Denim & Paisley

This dress is normally something I would never pick out! It's a little too preppy and the real test of that was wearing it to work and the certain people who LOVED it! It is so funny to me!  The preppy dressers totally adored the print and the cut.  I'm a paisley fan, sure, so I took a chance with it by putting it in my closet on Gwynnie Bee.  I loved wearing it with the boots and the denim jacket, and it was fun playing prep for a day! Now, I won't define my every day style in to one certain genre, but I think I like my preppiness to just be a dash or a sprinkle in the outfit. Do you define your closet with one word? Or do you make up an ensemble with a dash of this and a dollop of that?  Tell me, my chickens!

Princesses & Birthdays

Somebody's 23!!!!! (and yes, that is a Travis Tritt birthday cake.  She was a unique child.) HAPPY birthday little baby princess. I can't believe the little sister is going to be 23, that means I am getting old! But really. Sarah I am so proud of the beautiful, brunette little lady you have become. You make me happy because you are always yourself, and you are not afraid to speak your mind. You love people for who they are, and you want the best for them.  You are caring and sweet and you love my little black dog alllllmost as much as I do.  Once upon a time, you were drawing pictures of  the both of us on your self portraits, and jumping naked on the trampoline as a toddler....  and now you are getting married this summer!  You are silly in the best of ways and I love being your sister.  I hope you have the merriest day ever.  I love you more than meat loves salt.

Kaleidoscopes & Spikes

What a crazy fun print on this dress!  Definitely reminded me of the kaleidoscopes of my childhood.  It was a very powerful pattern, so I loved it more as a skirt.  I paired it with one of my favorite spring/summer tops! I told myself last night that I would NOT blog about weather every day this week, (as we experience every type of Spring weather imaginable...) So I guess I will talk about Melrose Place because I have been binge watching it on Netflix.  They just don't make back-stabbing primetime soap operas like they used to!  Everyone loves a good girl fight, cue the hair pulling and the fall in to the pool, you stole my husband's brother from me storyline. Oh wait, just me?  Feel free to leave me Netflix recs in the comment box. Also, perhaps a website for a life coach...  

Chevron & Mint

There is something about a spring breeze and breaking out my shorts and sandals that makes me want to run to the nearest restaurant patio and order a Sea Breeze.  Now while I have to continue working with rambunctious little preschoolers and wait for happy hour to come, at least I have outfits like this one to fall back on.  I love the short SHORT amount of time in Memphis in the Spring before it gets too hot here and you can integrate your light winter tops with your summery items!  It makes the wardrobe seem a bit bigger for a few weeks.  Thennnnn it's 101 degrees with 100% humidity in the shade.

Skater Dress & Statement Necklaces

Back by popular demand... the top knot!  I hardly ever ever wear my hair up for some reason... but after this post a lot of you encouraged me to put that mop up again, and I think it is growing on me.

Also, the necklace is back.  Almost the same outfit.
Take it easy on me, forgive me.  I've been off cokes and candy for almost 3 weeks and I don't know which way is up.  One thing is for certain... twirling in this dress = EPIC.
