Print Party!

 dress: eloquii via gwynnie bee // wedges: payless // earrings: bid girl // bangle bracelet: dots

This girl is not one to shy away from a crazy print dress.  Ladies and gentlemen... exhibit A.  This print is like a kaleidoscope and Rorschach test had a neon love child.  The best thing about a print that says, "HEY BEKAH IS HERE, Y'ALL!...." is the fact that it needs little to no accessorizing.   Just add some teeter-tottering sky high wooden wedges to make me top the charts at six four and half feet tall and we are golden.  Maybe the print will help distract everyone that it is Monday again.

Denim & Paisley

 {paisley printed dress: charter club via Gwynnie Bee | denim jacket: jc penney | boots: nine west | belt: lane bryant}

This dress is normally something I would never pick out! It's a little too preppy and the real test of that was wearing it to work and the certain people who LOVED it! It is so funny to me!  The preppy dressers totally adored the print and the cut.  I'm a paisley fan, sure, so I took a chance with it by putting it in my closet on Gwynnie Bee.  I loved wearing it with the boots and the denim jacket, and it was fun playing prep for a day! Now, I won't define my every day style in to one certain genre, but I think I like my preppiness to just be a dash or a sprinkle in the outfit.
Do you define your closet with one word? Or do you make up an ensemble with a dash of this and a dollop of that?  Tell me, my chickens!

Kaleidoscopes & Spikes

{dress as skirt: INC via Gwynnie Bee | top: TJ maxx | necklace: dots | shoes: payless | belt: ross}

What a crazy fun print on this dress!  Definitely reminded me of the kaleidoscopes of my childhood.  It was a very powerful pattern, so I loved it more as a skirt.  I paired it with one of my favorite spring/summer tops! I told myself last night that I would NOT blog about weather every day this week, (as we experience every type of Spring weather imaginable...) So I guess I will talk about Melrose Place because I have been binge watching it on Netflix.  They just don't make back-stabbing primetime soap operas like they used to!  Everyone loves a good girl fight, cue the hair pulling and the fall in to the pool, you stole my husband's brother from me storyline.
Oh wait, just me?  Feel free to leave me Netflix recs in the comment box.
Also, perhaps a website for a life coach...

Skater Dress & Statement Necklaces

 {skater dress: ASOS via Gwynnie Bee | belt: Lane Bryant | necklace: Accessory Concierge | clutch: thrifted | flats: Tory Burch}

Back by popular demand... the top knot!  I hardly ever ever wear my hair up for some reason... but after this post a lot of you encouraged me to put that mop up again, and I think it is growing on me.
Also, the necklace is back.  Almost the same outfit.
Take it easy on me, forgive me.  I've been off cokes and candy for almost 3 weeks and I don't know which way is up.  One thing is for certain... twirling in this dress = EPIC.

Neon, Neutrals, Stripes, and Studs

{dress: Eloquii via Gwynnie Bee | studded blazer: gordman's | booties: lane bryant | necklace: jewelry nut | clutch: thrifted}

I wore this outfit to my little sister's engagement party on Saturday night! It was just festive enough, but without sacrificing edge.  Yes, I am that girl who thinks adding studs to a completely girly outfit makes you edgy.  Aaaanywho, the party was a raging success with the most delicious food ever and a delightfully silly champagne toast given by yours truly.  I rarely wear neturals, but I think with the tiny pop of neon this outfit really works for me.  I love the muted tones.  Do you gravitate towards neutrals or loud pops of color?

P.S.  I don't know if all of you feel the same way Memphians feel about our hometown boy, Justin Timberlake, (which is lots and lots of mushy gushy love) but I love his whole CD especially the second radio release:

Fun Florals & Easter Eggs

{dress: Spense via Gwynnie Bee | shoes: Payless | belt: Lane Bryant | necklace: Eclectic Ornaments | bracelet: dots | clutch: gift}

Such a fun dress for Easter! (Thanks, Gwynnie Bee!)  I saw this and I knew it was the perfect dress to bring in the spirit of Easter (the Reese's PB eggs helped a lot, too!) Although, the cold and rainy day did not really oblige.  I'm not really breaking any ground here by saying that I am super obsessed with mint green lately.  From my bubble necklace, to my new purse, and now this dress!  I cannot get enough!! I think that mint green is even in the talks for my sister's bridesmaid's dresses.
Cue the Hallelujah chorus.
Ozzy even dressed up for the occasion... that little prince.
{bowtie: actually a hair bow c\o the shop of worldly delights, but I let him borrow it}
Happy Monday! Oh, and a brand new giveaway was posted earlier today!
Check it out, my little chickens.

Stripes, Dots, and Bubbles

{peplum dress: eloquii via gwynnie bee | necklace: groop dealz | coat: lane bryant | wedges: payless | sunglasses: michael kors}

Happy Tuesday, my little chickens! Boy, I have missed you all!  I took of for the weekend a little early, and I am just now getting my life in order on a Tuesday morning.  Go figure.  The summertime cannot come soon enough. I won't even talk about the weather (sans this sentence) because the two of us cannot see eye to eye and are not speaking.  I have a lot of new chickens around these parts, so I just want to say HELLO to you!  Also, let me introduce you to one of my favorite pastimes: pattern mixing!
This outfit was so fun and the perfect, peppy outfit to run around downtown and grab lunch with some family and friends.  Gotta love Gwynnie Bee because I probably never would have grabbed this dress off of a rack, but I loved it in when I tried it on! It was so comfortable, too! If you don't know much about my love affair with Gwynnie Bee... it is like Netflix for clothes.  I fill out my online closet with styles I adore and want to try, and they send me three at a time that I can switch unlimited amounts!  It basically gives me the walk-in closet without breaking my teeny tiny little teacher salary.
Happy Tuesday :)

Pep(lum) Up & a GIVEAWAY!

{peplum top: ASOS via Gwynnie Bee | jeans: TJ Maxx | belt: dots | wedges: payless | necklace: JNA}

I have loved the peplum trend since it first hit the mainstream a year or so ago, but finding a good option that I loved on me was difficult.  I tried dresses, jackets, and tops all peplum... none were great.  When Gwynnie Bee sent me this ASOS top, I was weary.. but I actually loved the Minnie Mouse vibe (so did my preschoolers) and it felt funky and fun!  Peplum, I have a feeling our love affair is just beginning. (Side note: these pics were taken pre-keratin treatment, so just imagine the hair 1400 times better, because it is)

{I am guest posting on Ten Feet Off Beale today! Go check out more merrymaking over there!}

writer's block & new shoes

{top: ASOS via Gwynnie Bee | jeans: tj maxx | flats: tory burch | necklace: dots}

Pretty much got the writer's block today, folks.  Considering that the content on the blog is never too hifalutin on the regular... I think you love me enough to forgive.  But to distract you from that, go grab some confetti (get ready...) and let's talk about my new shoes.  I finally bit the bullet and order the Tory Burch Reva flats, and I love love love them.  Also, they hurt like hell.  I gotta pull out some thick socks and break these babies in!  Pinkie pinching and heel rubbing galore! (Toss confetti!)
That was fun! Enjoy your Tuesday!

Jacquard Comfort (The New Yoga Pant)

 {jacquard dress: simply be via gwynnie bee | leggings: tj maxx | boots: lane bryant | necklace: crack in the walk | ring: silpada | red bracelet: dots | claw bracelet: bid girl}

Quick outfit post from last week...  I love the simplicity and comfort of this dress.  I don't judge people in yoga pants and tanks, but why wear work out clothes to lunch when it is so easy to throw on a t-shirt-like dress and leggings.  Adding a statement necklace just makes it look like you tried... (I didn't.)  Also, dresses like this completely work in the transition to Spring, too.  I wish I had a closet full!

What is your go-to comfortable look?

Friday Favorites

I just love to talk about things I love.  Which is right now includes but is not limited to the following:
 I was sent this Olay Va-va-vivid cleanser from Influenster and I have used it every day since.  I love the smell and the little brush thing vibrates and gets your face super clean and makes it SO smooth.  I definitely recommend trying this!  Oh, and the best part is that it smells AMAZING!
 Continuing my Netflix television show obsession, I moved on to Melrose Place.  At times it is completely melodramatic at times but I am so addicted to finding out what happens and hoping it gets more saucy.  PLUS: the early 90s fashion is painfully entertaining.
 No description needed! HA! I ordered my first pair of Tory Burch flats as a gift to myself and they should arrive sometime next week. I can't wait to style them up this spring!
 Starbucks announced their new drink this week, and as a SBUX ADDICT... I LOVE IT!
Definitely worth trying a triple venti nonfat one! :)
I feel like I talk about Gwynnie Bee all the time, but it is really never enough.  Getting 1-3 new garments delivered to my door a few times a week is JUST as amazing as it sounds.  Do yourself a favor and stop delaying and sign up for your free trial today.  Clothing without commitment AKA never having to worry about what you are going to wear on the weekends :) :)
ITS THE FREAKIN' WEEKEND BABY!
I am ready to throw on my fancy dancy shoes, enjoy the forecasted sunshine, and drink champagne from a pink can with some of nearest and dearest.  I wish you the best weekend, ever, my little chickens.  Check out all of the other ladies linking up with their faves here.
