Primary Confusion

 dress: target (old) // cardigan: old navy // scarf: F21 // leggings: asos // boots: target

I had a whole idea about what I was going to talk about today, but then I doubted the fact that yellow was a primary color.  I guess I didn't really pay attention during the color wheel lesson in Art class.  A quick and somewhat sketchy Google search later, and my original hypothesis was still cloudy.  Apparently it is not, yet some people argue that it is because of some sort of thing your eye does...
Fifteen minutes later, I forgot what I was going to say all together-
Something to do with red and yellow.. I think.

There is a slight difference in these pics, but can you spot it?  No, not the spots on my dress.  And although, you can't see my eyes... The difference is my hair!  Nothing too drastic, but I went to get the ombre darkened a little bit.  I loved the bright blonde, but it had faded just enough to become brassy and it needed a facelift.  I LOVE IT!  The ombre is perfect and the color on top is still my virgin, natural colored hair which I love. Who knows what is next on my hair experimentation list?!

TIME IS RUNNING OUT
to enter the Foxcroft collection giveaway!  Three winners will be chosen and giveaway ends Monday!

((Oh, and if you're local in Memphis, do yourself a favor and go see Elaine at Prescay Parlour.  She is my favorite person alive and always does exactly what I want!))

All Booties, All The Time

tunic: lane bryant // sweater: i ♥ ronson // necklace: eclectic ornaments //
leggings: tj maxx // shoes: barefoot tess

Tunics and leggings are one of my favorite grab-and-go outfits year round, but in the winter I love layering them with a oversized sweater! Also, I am trying to incorporate my boot/bootie collection more this season by going against my usual hesitation to wear the wedges/stacked heels on a random weekday.  With my extremely casual job, I kind of feel silly wearing dressier clothes and shoes, but I just love them so much! I have a massive collection of boots and I need to get them in a better rotation! Does anyone else struggle with this problem?  So if you see that girl with a 4 inch heel in the grocery store on a random Thursday... that may be me.

Aztec & Sweaters

leggings: c/o dots (here) // boots: target (here) // waffle knit sweater: old navy //
necklace: c/o versona accessories // denim tunic: lane bryant

 This time of year is great for many things... the weather, the food, the holidays...
One of my favorite things that happens is the PROMO codes!  Companies flood your email boxes on the daily with promo codes giving great deals 20% off, 30% off, etc, etc.  All the stars align and you can grab the items you have been lusting over since Fall collections hit the stores.
I've already scored some deals in store at Old Navy (this sweater) and my long awaited Sephora splurges will be arriving later this week!  Tis the season, after all!
Let's all pause to freak out... 40 days until Christmas!
Do you know about any promo code/in store deals I may not know about?
Let me know in the comments.

Layers & the Weekend

chambray top: jc penney // leather leggings: h&m // boots: lane bryant // white tee: torrid
military vest: old navy // scarf: target // sunglasses: cole haan

Top of the Monday morning to all my little chickens!  I hope enjoyed gaining an hour this weekend, I know I did.  It really helped soften the blow after a super fun weekend.  We visited the new Wiseacre Brewing Co in Memphis over the weekend for a belated birthday celebration for my beer-loving brother. (Say that 4 times fast!)  It was surprisingly cold and super windyon Saturday, so I layered quite a bit.  I just acquired these leather look leggings, and I am still trying to find an outfit that really works with them.  This outfit worked great for trying a few craft beers and grabbing lunch in midtown.  If you live in Memphis, I totally recommend checking out the taproom on the weekend.  Lots of relaxation and football took over on Sunday, followed by scary movie binging.  Long story short, it was a great weekend at a great pace.

I'm linking up with Sami today to share the shit out of my Weekend Shenanigans.  xxoo

Jacquard Comfort (The New Yoga Pant)

 {jacquard dress: simply be via gwynnie bee | leggings: tj maxx | boots: lane bryant | necklace: crack in the walk | ring: silpada | red bracelet: dots | claw bracelet: bid girl}

Quick outfit post from last week...  I love the simplicity and comfort of this dress.  I don't judge people in yoga pants and tanks, but why wear work out clothes to lunch when it is so easy to throw on a t-shirt-like dress and leggings.  Adding a statement necklace just makes it look like you tried... (I didn't.)  Also, dresses like this completely work in the transition to Spring, too.  I wish I had a closet full!

What is your go-to comfortable look?

a tad tribal, a bit bright

 {dress: dots | leggings: tj maxx | boots: nine west | red bracelet: tj maxx | clutch: thrifted | belt: LB}

It's no secret that I am a super fan of tribal print, but when it comes accompanied by bright colors... I couldn't run to the cash register fast enough.  It was the perfect festive outfit for a SURPRISE party for one of my closest friends on the lake.  Bonfires, best friends, boat docks, oh... and a live band?  Ya just can't beat it!  Hope you had the best birthday, T!
What about all of my little chickens?  Best weekend ever, I hope!  Don't spill any good gossip because I have not seen The Walking Dead, Downton Abbey, or any of my Sunday night shows!  I did catch some of the Grammys and basically I love Mumford & Sons and I am so glad they won, I hated Adele's dress, Katy Perry had too much boobage, & Beyonce looked great!  JT is back and the good news is: he still has his sexy!  Best dressed, in my opinon, goes to Rihanna (which I never thought I would say)... She's FAB!

HOPE YOU HAVE THE BEST MONDAY EVER!

Beyonce's Team Colors

{leggings: tj maxx | boots: payless | tunic top: eloquii via gwynnie bee | earrings: silpada}

Hey chickens, I am a few days late here... but during the Super Bowl when true football fans were wearing their Baltimore purple or San Fran whatever-color-red-that-is... I chose Beyonce's team colors: black and badass.  Okay, okay I'm not exactly rocking a black leather swimsuit with lace and knee highs BUT really I love this top.  The texture and length made me pine for it when I saw it on the Gwynnie Bee site.  It's completely sheer but when paired with a long tank, it was perfect for having fun at a Super Bowl party for dancing along with Destiny's Child!

If you don't follow me on Twitter, you may be late to finding out that I have a blossoming obsession with Parks and Recreation.  Normally, I am obsessed with dramas and reality shows, but this comedy has me DYING laughing.  I've always loved Amy Poehler, but now I know all about Pawnee and the gloriousness that is Ron Swanson, I am delighted to spend my nights in the glow of Netflix.
Happy Hump Day! We are halfway through!

Foil Print Florals

{leggings: tj maxx | floral blouse: E via Gwynnie Bee | sweater: target | necklace: gordman's | flats: payless (old)}

HAPPY FEBRUARY!
I feel like my spring fever has really crept in to my wardrobe here lately.  I am oh-so-ready to retire my chunky sweaters and I keep reaching for tunic shirts and leggings with flats.  I'm even tiring of my chunky scarves and boots with socks.  That's why when I got my second shirt from Gwynnie Bee (read more about GB in yesterday's post), I was thrilled to get a sleeveless floral print!  I really hope that cute little groundhog sees his shadow tomorrow because this little merrymaker is yearning for spring even more now!
What are all of my little chickens up to this weekend?! I will be working a tiny bit, going out for dinner and drinks with a group of great friends & watching the Super Bowl with family and yummy snacks! I hope lots of fun events are in order for all of you!
CHEERS!

Wild Horses & my new BFF

{leggings: tj maxx | booties: LB | tunic: Simply Bee via Gwynnie Bee | necklace: J. Crew | watch: MK}

 We all know how much I dearly love my animal prints (leopard HELLO!)  BUT did you know that I also have a small fascination with clothing with actual little animals on them?  I think this horsey shirt is my new favorite!  I love the color, cut, and the fact that I'm renting it...
 (AND THERE'S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM!)

Have you guys heard of Gwynnie Bee?  It is like Netflix for clothing.  Only better.  For one flat rate a month, you can pick out a certain number of garments (1 at a time, 3 at a time, etc) and you can swap them out for new garments an UNLIMITED amount of times.  ARE YOU SIGNING UP YET?  The best part is that Gwynnie Bee is offering a FREE 30 day trial because she knows my merrymaking chickens will LOVE this!  I got this shirt in my first shipment and I can send it back tomorrow OR keep it until I'm tired of wearing it.  I have a leather pencil skirt and a foil print floral blouse waiting to be worn, too!  Freshen up your closet and try a new trend on for fun!
It's clothing without commitment.

Let me know if you have any questions about this!

Antiques & Favorite Shirts

{red top: rainbow (surprised? i was) | leggings: tj maxx | boots: nine west | necklace: c/o eclectic ornaments | purse: olivia & joy | sunglasses: michael kors}
 I added an instagram (@missbekah) widget to the right -----> so if you need more merrymaking more often than waiting for a post, there is generally a ton ton to be had there.

A Monday off work was such a treat! As a belated birthday present to my mom (Hey Donna, love you!) I took her to eat at Ronnie Grisanti' s (YUM!) inside the HUGE and wonderfully treasure-filled Sheffield's Antique Mall! I can't wait to go back and score some items on my wish list!  I saw a little vanity table that needs to be mine! Then my lovely friend Kayla and I went to get some margaritas and see an insanely horrible scary movie (my favorite)... by the way, if you want to see Mama, save yourself the ticket price and wait for the redbox.
I LOVE DAYS OFF! :)
Moving on, finding this top was a result of a rainy work day lunch hour where I needed to get in some intense retail therapy in a short amount of time.  I love how flowy it is! It has definitely been moved up on the list of my favorite tops and I can't wait to dress it down and add some layers!  It really was way cold today and I could have used some extra warmth.  Other than that I would say it was a great find!

Bonus: outtake for this Tuesday, you're welcome!
(I'm a little tea pot?)
