I will save you the ins and outs of where I've been hiding (somewhere between a margarita bar and a lost Macbook charger) and just carry on, my wayward chickens. Deal? Deal.
Sweet summertime is here and I feel the freedom! I have slow, peaceful mornings, a belated work time, and freedom of dress code with my new job (a post to come on that soon.)
Also, summer means CELEBRATION! Last Saturday, a few of my favorites went out to celebrate my main blonde's birthday.

I'm a big believer in balancing out the top of an outfit with the bottom, so with this shorter skirt I was thrilled to pair my newly acquired spiked shoulder top. (Not to be confused with the spiked shoulder blazer) OR my new spiked purse. I obviously like this trend, chickens. It is such a perfect outfit for the truly Spring weather we are having. The best thing about this outfit is that is was so comfortable and perfect for having brunch & catching a movie! I would also super love this outfit paired with some Chuck Taylors or flip flops. But, it's safe to say I am definitely on a wedge kick.
1. I've officially switched over to iced coffee. I don't know why it cost almost a dollar more to order the SAME thing over ice. Someone explain it to me.
2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE lemon greek yogurt. Go get some now and you will thank me forever.
3. I picked up a few new sandals on a Target trip. I wanted them all, but I only purchased two. That was super hard to pick.
4. Still putting sriracha on everything. And I have NOT had time to get through this magazine. Tragic.
4. Out of my favorite Sugar lip treatment. I don't know if I have ever finished a lip product to the end before it is lost or eaten by my little black canine.
This girl is not one to shy away from a crazy print dress. Ladies and gentlemen... exhibit A. This print is like a kaleidoscope and Rorschach test had a neon love child. The best thing about a print that says, "HEY BEKAH IS HERE, Y'ALL!...." is the fact that it needs little to no accessorizing. Just add some teeter-tottering sky high wooden wedges to make me top the charts at six four and half feet tall and we are golden. Maybe the print will help distract everyone that it is Monday again.

Happy Tuesday, my little chickens! Boy, I have missed you all! I took of for the weekend a little early, and I am just now getting my life in order on a Tuesday morning. Go figure. The summertime cannot come soon enough. I won't even talk about the weather (sans this sentence) because the two of us cannot see eye to eye and are not speaking. I have a lot of new chickens around these parts, so I just want to say HELLO to you! Also, let me introduce you to one of my favorite pastimes: pattern mixing!
This outfit was so fun and the perfect, peppy outfit to run around downtown and grab lunch with some family and friends. Gotta love Gwynnie Bee because I probably never would have grabbed this dress off of a rack, but I loved it in when I tried it on! It was so comfortable, too! If you don't know much about my love affair with Gwynnie Bee... it is like Netflix for clothes. I fill out my online closet with styles I adore and want to try, and they send me three at a time that I can switch unlimited amounts! It basically gives me the walk-in closet without breaking my teeny tiny little teacher salary.
This face below was made out of sheer and complete frozen shock at the weather over the weekend! I took my coat off and immediately regretted it, photo shoot over.
I have not really been quiet about it, but I am so obsessed with this dress. When I got it, I wanted to wear it every single day. So, I kinda did. HA! I styled it up three different ways and had so much fun with it. I love a piece that can be versatile on its own, but plays nice with others too!
Check out how I styled the ASOS dress (via Gwynnie Bee) three ways: Dressy, Casual, and Fun!
Let me know which one you la-la-love the most.
Check at the bottom of the post for full outfit details.
PS This was so fun.

I wore this to a farewell breakfast for a family that is very dear to our hearts, they are moving to Japan! We will miss them so so so much! Then little sister and I hit up the movies so I could see Rock of Ages AGAIN! Seriously, I love it. 80s tunes and a musical? I'm there.
^ Ain't she cute? ^
I am definitely going to miss that little guy.
The movie actually makes me like Tom Cruise, go figure...

In all reality, today is my first day back to work.
Christmas vacation is over. (boo, hiss)
But in merry blogland we are going to continue believing that I'm still on break!
I really wore this a few days back to get sushi lunch and manicures with one of my besties in town from VA (hey, jess!!). I love the contrasting look of a comfy sweater and graphic tee with distressed skinny jeans and wedges. There's a whole lotta juxtaposition-ing going on!
Did you have to return to the real world today, too?
Bummer.
As part of my 2012 goals to grow creatively & harvest more inspiration...
I studded the word "create" on the wall over my desk to bring inspiration to my workplace!!!!
(do it yourself: I just wrote the word in pencil and used thumbtacks--TA DA!)
I was asked: What are the top five spring trends that you are looking forward to seeing/sporting this season?
Boy, it was a tough job narrowing it down to five.
On with the show...
ONE: CHIFFON PLEATS: I mentioned my love for chiffon pleats here and here. I still feel the same way!
I love the look and I hope it sticks around TWO: CUTOUT PLATFORM WEDGES: They are in almost every store. Some of my favorites this season are hailing from Nine West. I need to get my hands on some, pronto (pup). THREE: WHITE SKINNY JEANS: I already found the peeeeerrrrfect pair in my price range- HERE just have not quite allocated that money yet... (hint hint birthday/graduation gifts wink wink nudge...) FOUR: ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE: It's all about orange this spring, and don't just take my word for it. Wow, that really sounded like a salesperson... HELLO!
Even though I despise the orange that is worn around my part of town, I like the corals and burnt orange.
Throw in some ruffles, like above, and I might not ever take it off. FIVE: GYPSY JEWELRY:
I already have my gypsy necklace, but the piles and piles of bangles on the scene are making me smile.
I love the eclecticism and beauty of the groups together.
Get it, Esmerelda.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SPRING TRENDS? TELL ME ABOUT IT! AND RUN OVER TO MODLY-CHIC AND SEE WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS LOVIN' ON.
