Olympics Spirit & Skater Skirts

skater skirt: asos // booties: dolce vita // sweater: thrifted //
necklace: accessory auctions // clutch: navoh

Decided to throw on my favorite skater skirt, just in time to catch the figure skating on the Winter Olympics!  it is definitely my favorite sport to watch!  I can barely walk on rainy streets, much less balance on two blades on frozen water-so this is the closest to a triple toe loop as I will ever get.  I do love Ashley Wagner though! How cute it she?  Love the girl's lip color.

Are you following the Olympic events at all? I am catching a couple a night, and I hate the time zone difference, but I love rooting for the events!  The women's snowboarding was intense, and the words "ice dancing" just sound like the most fun ever.  I always forget how much I love the Olympics until they are here.  I'm all for the rhinestones and ruffles of a good skating outfit!  Have a fabulous Monday!

Wicked & Wine

dress: asos (similar) // necklace: eclectic ornaments // booties: barefoot tess // sunglasses: mossimo via target // clutch: ENIT design

On Saturday, my favorite theatre pal (resident BFF) and I headed out to see Wicked at The Orpheum.  We grabbed some pre-show local brews at South Of Beale then we were BLOWN AWAY by the show! I had seen Wicked before, but this was like the first time all over again!  I am a total theatre freak and I had to pinch myself to keep from singing along to every song.

Brace yourselves for one of the MOST exciting and fun restaurant concepts!  After the excitement, we were parched and in need of some major deliciousness.  We hit up Greencork, which is in Midtown Memphis in the Cooper Young area.  I cannot believe that I put off hitting this place up for so long!  Basically, you get a pre-paid, or personalized tab card, and you can choose from a ton of self-serve wines with different pour options.  Helloooooo!  I was smitten from the get-go, and then you add in a delicious meat and cheese plate and I was all set to move in forever.  If you're local, you have to go check it out (also, call me!)

SUCH a merry weekend!
Have the greatest week ever ever.

Polka Dot Dot Dots

dress: asos (on sale here) // necklace: eclectic ornaments // booties: barefoot tess

The weather was amazing on Sunday, like 60 degrees amazing!  It was definitely a welcome addition to this weekend, but I hate to say the warm front has left us alone once again.  This weekend was so much fun! I spent Friday night celebrating a close friend's 25th! Saturday, we visited a local brewery and celebrated my little boy dog's birthday (he's six and I cannot believe it!)  Sunday was spent catching up with old friends, playing darts and not watching the Grammys!  I seriously do not have the attention span for awards shows.  They waste so much time and I like pretty, sparkly dresses as much as the next girl out there, but COME ON.  Speeches are annoying and awkward and the live performances are very rarely worth writing home about...  I did enjoy following the shows unfolding on twitter while I drink my tea and watch Downton Abbey.
I will take Lady Mary over Lady Gaga any day.

Primary Confusion

dress: target (old) // cardigan: old navy // scarf: F21 // leggings: asos // boots: target

I had a whole idea about what I was going to talk about today, but then I doubted the fact that yellow was a primary color.  I guess I didn't really pay attention during the color wheel lesson in Art class.  A quick and somewhat sketchy Google search later, and my original hypothesis was still cloudy.  Apparently it is not, yet some people argue that it is because of some sort of thing your eye does...
Fifteen minutes later, I forgot what I was going to say all together-
Something to do with red and yellow.. I think.

There is a slight difference in these pics, but can you spot it?  No, not the spots on my dress.  And although, you can't see my eyes... The difference is my hair!  Nothing too drastic, but I went to get the ombre darkened a little bit.  I loved the bright blonde, but it had faded just enough to become brassy and it needed a facelift.  I LOVE IT!  The ombre is perfect and the color on top is still my virgin, natural colored hair which I love. Who knows what is next on my hair experimentation list?!

TIME IS RUNNING OUT
to enter the Foxcroft collection giveaway!  Three winners will be chosen and giveaway ends Monday!

((Oh, and if you're local in Memphis, do yourself a favor and go see Elaine at Prescay Parlour.  She is my favorite person alive and always does exactly what I want!))
TGIF!

Leopard Shifts & Full House

dress: asos curve // tights: we love colors // booties: barefoot tess //
necklace: versona accessories // clutch: local boutique

I've never met an ASOS dress that I didn't like, but this one was love at first sight.
I am a leopard print obsessor, that's a given, but this print was different enough to be fresh and fun in another way.  I pulled it straight out of the bag & someone uttered, "Don't you already own that?"
In the famous words of little Michelle Tanner, "How rude!"
This girl might have a closet bedecked with leopard garments in a wide variety of textures and colors, but each piece is special on their own way, just trust me.
Like this red/orange with gray mix, it's fun!
This dress looks like something Bekah would wear... I like the sound of that.

Outfit Repeat & Broken Toes

swing dress: ASOS // tights: we love colors // necklace: baublebar // boots: lane bryant

This was my Halloween dress and I was really looking forward to re-styling it and adding new pieces to make it work year round.  My extensive collection of We Love Colors tights proved perfect with this burgundy pair, but there was only one slight problem keeping this outfit from being truly great.  My three "broken" toes on my left foot.  I use the term broken very loosely, as I am not a professional doctor.  I can speak professionally on the subject of being a very clumsy person, I have tried to break many a doorframe by walking straight into it.
Long story short, always turn on the light...
I don't love these boots with this outfit, but my poor toes were in lots of pain in just about every other pair of shoes I tried... In a perfect non-broken toe world, I would have slipped on these bad daddies I just bought. Cheers to a quick and speedy recovery for my toes and a super fun weekend wearing Ugg boots & swigging Chardonnay.  Xo

Black on Black

dress (as skirt): asos // sweater: thrifted // scarf: gift // purse: target // wedges: payless

Yesterday (aka when these pictures were taken) was one of those days where as soon as I left the house, I wished I had worn sweatpants and a baggy tee.  The worst part of that is... I actually can do that in my line of work (glorified babysitter.)  I choose to put forth effort every day because I love getting dressed (and clothes are the most fun thing ever.)
Today I wished I had a sweater blanket & a whole day to binge on Netflix and cookies.

Sigh.  Don't worry though, I broke world records getting in the door, in to my pajamas, and threw cookies in the oven.
All is right in the world again.

Eeny Beanie Miney Mo

beanie (here) & cardigan & gingham button-up: target // leggings: dots // skirt: asos //
boot cuffs: handmade // boots: nine west // necklace: c/o versona accessories

All I know is that I will be buying this beanie from Target IN EVERY SINGLE COLOR.  This is my first fall to not be teaching, so I guess I feel more free to wear a beanie all day...
Weird logic, but true nonetheless.
Here's to beanies, florals, and gingham all living happily together.
PS Did you know it was Friday?? Bless it.
xxoo

Someone was obviously jealous of my new beanie... Looks good, Ozzy :)

Wishful Wednesday

I want to wear the dress with the earrings while twirling around at a party drinking the gin fizz whilst looking at the beautiful garland & majestic bull head.
Duh.

Orange is the New Black

top: target // black party pants: asos // blazer with spiked shoulders: gordmans // flats: nine west

We are SO close to Halloween! Even though I celebrated a little early (I will share photos Thursday) I am still in the spirit.  You can't really tell because it was so overcast this day, but these "party pants" from ASOS have a fun sheen to them.  I got them at the end of last spring on super sale so this is my first time breaking them out.  I'm linking up with Trend Spin today for Halloween looks in orange and/or black, so be sure to head over there to check out some more Halloween theme colors!

How are you celebrating on the 31st? Trick or treating or a big costume party?  Maybe a big old bag of fun sized candy and a glass of wine?  It all sounds good to me.
I can't believe November is right around the corner.  Happy Tuesday!
