sunny saturday

Just a little hint about what I will be doing today...
It is supposed to get up to almost 90 degrees.
Can't wait to work on my tan!
Poolside Picks

I love all of the above items, and they are ALL necessary for a fun, relaxing day at the pool.
Especially, the beverage.
What are you doing this weekend, my little chickens?

ENJOY your weekend :)

snapshot saturday 4.0

Here's a good one for y'all for today's Snapshot Saturday at Yellow Songbird.
I am a very passionate person when it comes to merrymaking.
You may have already noticed that, however.
So here is something you can't tell by looking at me:
I LOVE KARAOKE!
I love the singing, the very drunk versions of 'Sweet Caroline' by old men or sorority girls,
revelry and pitchers of beer, J. Lo approved sparkles....
*APPLAUSE*
It's all gravy, baby.

Seriously, I have a few favorite places and more than a few go-to songs.
For the local peeps, this pic was taken at the Windjammer- early 2010.
I haven't had the time to go lately, so I am going to step up my game.
Any fellow karaoke fans out there?
Rock out, chickens.

Hope you enjoyed this random post, and getting to know me as a crazy singing fool.
Compelling stuff, yes?
Jump on over to Kim's blog and see everyone else's snapshots to share.
Oh, and you should definitely check out her shop too, it's where I got this turban headband perfection.

BIG WEEKEND PLANS?

I am going to attempt to be productive with a salon visit, papers to write, and a fun brunch with some lovely ladies.  I'll sprinkle in some merriment, here and there.  What are you guys going to do?
CHEERS! :)

Sister #2, Colbie Cailliat, and ME

Last September, I won tickets to sit SECOND ROW at the Sheryl Crow + Colbie Caillat concert.
I took sister #2 and we had the most amazing time.
The venue was outside at the Mud Island Amphitheater, on the Mississippi river.
We were invited to meet and greet with Colbie, where we took this picture.
I love her music, her beachy style, and her sweet personality.

The best concert of that summer, by far.

Check out the other link-ups at Yellow Songbird.

Enjoy your weekend!
AND IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, CHECK OUT MY FIVE THINGS FRIDAY!!!!

snapshot saturday 2.0

it has been a crazy, yet wonderful, week.
and the BEST way to celebrate this glorious weekend would be to share with you,
 snapshot saturday
version 2.0 :)

This pic is me and my main main Ozzy, when he was just a young pup, in March 2008.
I adopted Ozzy from a rescue shelter, he was there with his mother (Queenie, the corgi) and his brother and sister.  I initially wanted a girl dog, so that I could dress her up in frills and paint her nails,
but Oz-man's sister was already adopted.
I picked Ozzy because he was the smallest and all black and just a bucket of adorable.
These dogs needed homes because the former owners of Queenie (who was preggers at the time) were tragically killed in a fire at their home.
They found Queenie in the back of the house at the time of rescue.

Adopting a dog was the greatest learning experience that I have had up until this point.
I learned that they were expensive, especially if they have more allergies than you! :)
I have also learned the value of unconditional love.
Now, I brag on how adorable he is everyday, either here or to anyone who will listen, but the truth is he is such a little prince.  He loves everyone.
EVERYONE!
I'm a strong advocate of adopting a dog, or any animal, from a shelter or humane society.
If you want to know more about my experience, or have any questions, email me.

Thanks for reading all about my little man.  If you're not a dog person, that's cool, too.
I'm allergic to cats.

saturday snapshot 1.0

GOOD MORNING!
Today is the first post where I will be linking up to Yellow Songbird's blog for Saturday Snapshot.
This is a picture of my sister's and I (bridesmaid) and our cousin (flower girl) for my brother's wedding.
They leave for their "postponed-until-spring-break" honeymoon today, so I feel like it's only fitting to include a picture taken on such an important day in my family.
:)
Wedding blog posts can be found here and here.

You guys should check her blog out, if you're not familiar with it.
You could join in on the fun.

What are you doing this marvelous Saturday morning?
It is supposed be hit 70 degrees today!
I'm so happy!  I am taking my brother and sister-in-law to the airport
then grabbing some yummy brunch (+mimosas) and thrifting.
These things are making me super smile today.

I found this pretty simple DIY tutorial on Cupcakes and Cashmere, one of my frequent stalks.
I really want to do this.  It would be great to change the flowers out with each season.
Plus... it floats.  Dogs and cats can't knock it over!
Genius.

I recently discovered the magic of sea salt conjured with desserts.
Yummy.

Party Animal Necklaces-- Need I say more?

I bought denim shorts today.
They were $14.
I might take them back.
I'm not one that usually experiences buyer's remorse, but I AM one who should not shop while sleepy.
After my post-shopping nap, my mind was a tad clearer, and I wondered why I bought them.
They came with a really cool belt?

I'll post a pic, once my legs don't blend in with the sidewalk.

Here's something to ponder for the afternoon:
