Facebook Auctions & Etsy Shopping

So I have become unusually obsessed with Facebook auctions and Etsy purchases here lately. I think it's because I'm insanely busy and booked solid seven days a week, so when I have downtime... I'm online shopping! If you're not familiar with Facebook auction sites, you should really check them out. Some of my favorites are Bid Girl, Anna's Armoire, Simply Chic, and Accessory Concierge. There are tons and tons that sell everything from smocked baby clothes to boutique items.. You name it! I'm in it for the designer inspired jewelry at a fraction of the cost. PLUS its way fun to get packages in the mail! My most recent steal:

Then we have Etsy where I could browse for hours and hours and find one handmade treasure and its totally worth it. I'm in love with my new, super simple, gold love knot ring.

 

Also, rounding out the online shopping I finally found a iPad mini case that encompasses my love for leopard in the simple style case I was looking for. PERFECTION!

dear february fourteenth...

Dear February 14th,

I don't love (or hate) you for being the day of love.  

Even if you are a contrived, commercialized day of over priced flowers, forced diamond giving and an excused public display of love competition.  To me- you're just an excuse to overwear my favorite color scheme and a headband with huge hearts on it.  I thank you for this and the reese peanut butter cup hearts!  Also, any holiday with a class party is fun in my book.  So, my little chickens, single, dating, or married... enjoy today with those people in your life because every day with them is a sparkly, shiny gift! 

(Yeah, that cheese factor is pretty overwhelming, but do yourself a favor and wear a dress that you can spin in and your day will only improve.)

chevron madness

Two things I learned today: 1. I have always had a healthy respect for chevron in all aspects of life, but I super love it on clothing.  I'm ashamed to mention that I just figured this out. 2. I sit down and get up a LOT in my day chasing wild and sweet preschoolers.  This results in major wrinkles by noon.  I'm also ashamed to admit I didn't notice my wrinkles until uploading this pictures. Just to bring you up to date with the thoughts in my head:  I learned that Bruno Mars is going on tour, and coming to Memphis Nashville! = GOOD! Tomorrow is the day of red and pink and purple and sparkles = GREAT! The day after tomorrow, all of the Reeses peanut butter cup shaped hearts in the land will be on clearance = EPIC!
That's all I have for ya today... I am sipping on a QUAD latte and hoping if I close my eyes that it will be Saturday.  Love love.

mardi gras & tons of sequins

TONS OF SEQUINS: This dress is a perfect example of why I am obsessed with Gwynnie Bee!  I live for sequins, and this dress is amazing... but I was happy with wearing it just one time, because I was just renting.  The best part was getting to return it and having another fabulous outfit shipped back out to me. It is easily one of my top three favorite days of the year!  This time last year I was living it up on the streets of NOLA, celebrating with parades and parties. (Check out some pics from last year below.)  I would love to be there again this year, but alas, it was not in the plans!  However, I am letting the good times roll on the banks of the mighty Mississipi! I have plans to devour a king cake, wear more purple, green, and gold, and drink a daiquiri (or three)!  How are you celebrating Fat Tuesday?  Enjoy! a tad tribal, a bit bright

It's no secret that I am a super fan of tribal print, but when it comes accompanied by bright colors... I couldn't run to the cash register fast enough.  It was the perfect festive outfit for a SURPRISE party for one of my closest friends on the lake.  Bonfires, best friends, boat docks, oh... and a live band?  Ya just can't beat it!  Hope you had the best birthday, T! 

What about all of my little chickens?  Best weekend ever, I hope!  Don't spill any good gossip because I have not seen The Walking Dead, Downton Abbey, or any of my Sunday night shows!  I did catch some of the Grammys and basically I love Mumford & Sons and I am so glad they won, I hated Adele's dress, Katy Perry had too much boobage, & Beyonce looked great!  JT is back and the good news is: he still has his sexy!  Best dressed, in my opinon, goes to Rihanna (which I never thought I would say)... She's FAB!
