the rainy day special

Today, I totally wanted to wear some of my new thrifted items.
(You can check those items out in my vlog, found here.)
BUT... Mother Nature did not want me to have any fun, so it's my rainy day special of jeans, boyfriend tee, and turban.
Speaking of that red head adornment, I love it.
You can see the different ways I have styled it

I can honestly tell you that three of the numerous items I am wearing today were assumably lost.
I forget when I hang things up to dry in the laundry room and they get hidden by other items.
I thought these jeans ran away... but alas, we are reunited.
(and it FEELS SO GOOD)
Same for the two necklaces, they were hiding under newer items.
I think I need a new organizational system, folks.

Check out those nails!
What do you think?
It was harder than I thought, but I'm pleased with the outcome.  You can see Kara's DIY post on the striped nails HERE.
Get some fun colors and have an Easter themed manicure day.
Happy Easter weekend, and Good Friday, and Easter Monday...
Working at a Catholic school has many perks, including this glorious four-day weekend I start at six pm this evening. Hollllerrrr.

Talk to you later, my little chickens.

{almost} april showers

I wanna knoooooow- Have you ever seen the rain?
I love CCR.
I hate Wednesdays.

(how I truly look on rainy days)

As you can see below, I picked Party Pony as the style to rock my brand new turban today!
I got tons and tons of complements.

Including some hottie in my history class, he thought the vintage look was oh-so-flattering :)
THANKS, STRANGER!

I want to buy 1400 more turbans.
Seriously, THE EASIEST way to rock unwashed hair and still look STYLISH.

skinny jeans: Gap

A lot of my favorite bloggers sometimes go off on little rants (not necessarily negative) about things they feel strongly about in the almighty blogosphere.
As I gain more followers and find new blogs I love-
I'm always reminded to stay true to my personal blogging beliefs.
Cue mini-rant:
I will always be sure to be the best representative of myself.
Meaning: The Bekah you see is ain't nothing but the real thang-
baby.
Sarcasm, eclecticism (is this a word?), vain notions that you may care about my posts beyond a glance.
All that aside:  I want to be real, talk about real issues AND pretty things, get real feedback, etc.
I may feel the need to post an OOTD, a picture of my dog, or a video of me lip syncing to Hanson.
Or all of the above.
You've been warned.

I hope you are here because you like my style, my attempt at humor, or my love of sparkles.
That's all. Oh-
I'm glad you're here, seriously. Stick around, there's more to see:

rainy day wear & wishful wednesday

On a perfect rainy day, don't let the weather get you down.  The past few days have been wet and cold, but you're outfit should not suffer.  Brighten your day and the day of those around you by tying in some brightly colored pieces.

I love this look, because it has brighter colors but also a vintage feel with the tee and retro trench coat.
Everyone needs some boots to jump through puddles in! Check it out!

Oh, and the Philosophy lip gloss looks good on everyone. It is my favorite!

Have fun getting dressed, no matter what the weather!

Wishes This Wednesday:

Love this keyring, very Sex and the City (movie), don't ya think?  Maybe it would bring me my own Mr. Big.  Not getting my hopes up, it is just a keychain.

And if the occasion, or necessity, even comes around when I can spend $200 on a shower curtain, I like the simple design of this one below.

And the thing I am wishing for the most on this Wednesday is a pleasant Spring, and soon!  And a strange urge to go on a picnic... So here is my first pre-Spring outfit.  And I am definitely adding this dress and MK shoes to my wish list and wearing it at the first sight of Spring.

Cheers, Happy Hump Day!
