....and invisible shoes.  No no, my shoes are not made out of grass.  It just looks that way.

They are actually a really cool alligator looking print with a pointy toe.  But some things just cannot be photographed on a rainy cloudy afternoon in green grass.  This skirt makes me giggle and twirl when I put it on... seriously this cannot be avoided.

Today was my first day going to work since the time change and boy, it is way less depressing than my  previous pitch black commute.  But dark at 5:30 kinda blows.

HAPPY ELECTION DAY 2012! I hope you all have or plan to make it out to the polls today.  I know its a thing in Memphis where bars offer drink specials for those sporting "I VOTED TODAY" stickers!  Good thing I saved mine ;) ;) ;)  But honestly, I take the right to vote very seriously, so make your own decision and make it out today!  XOXO, Bekah.

Bleu Birds

I guess that spelling the color blue in French makes it more fancy.  And I am all about the fancy.  Can we talk about how much I love this outfit? It kinda came together in a hasty scramble to get ready.  Sometimes the outfits you throw together come out the absolute best.  I wore this to a failed Bunco Sunday that turned in to a boozed up, gossipy, girly Vampire Diaries (seriously, we are obsessed with this show) kind of day.  Sometimes those days can be the best  :)

This super high knee socks used to be old thrift store sweater sleeves, and I'll be honest, I cannot wait to DIY some more.  I plan on living in boots and socks this fall/winter.  I just finished the best four day weekend of my life, seriously the downtime and friend time was just the refresher I needed! I never imagined how happy getting all my laundry done on a Sunday would be!  Also, facing a four day week that starts on a Tuesday ain't so bad either! Happy November, my little chickens!

It feels so good to be back and in action! I hope most of you have been following along as I get back in the swing of things over the next few days.  Clearing the merrymaking cobwebs, if you will!

Fall is very much here in Memphis, and I am breaking out all of my sweaters and layering essentials!  I have my colored tights at the ready, and my army of boots shined and prepped!

Today is technically my Friday, as we are having a four day weekend at school! I have a good friend coming in to town, a precious little boy's 3rd birthday to celebrate, and a Sunday Funday planned with my girls!  Oh, and if you can't see the sticker in the pictures above, I early voted today! Feels good to do my civic duty, and my sister and I had a little too much fun in the line for the polls.  Let's just say there was a Beyonce parody and a man playing golf.

That's all you will get out of me.

Fall '12 Wish List

Since I've been gone, I have seriously been shopping my cute little face off.  Something about the change from summer to fall makes me forgo food, gas money, & common sense and just splurge on tights and sweaters like it is my job.  It's not my job, though, and I have to tone it down before 2013.  However, there are some must have grabs on MY list of things I cannot live without during the upcoming chilly months. Here we go...
1. Classic white button down: I have to replace my old standby, the J. Crew WBD is imperative to winter layering and look chic in an instant. Gimme gimme.

via 2. Oxblood: It is everywhere on the fall fashion line, so it is very easy for me to find a piece to add to my collection. The must have color translates easily in to any ensemble.  Although I'll probably browse for a good sweater in the enviable color, I love these leggings!

3. Loafers: I am a self-denying shoe addict, but there is one exception for this fall.  I will own a pair of nice loafers! I love these from calf hair loafers from Gap, but budgets might prohibit me to finding a less pricey pair around town.

4. A Serious Splurge: This is it, folks.  A culmination of perfection in this merrymaker's opinion THIS COAT! I love the Gossip Girl-ish vibe from it, plus I've never said no to anything leopard.  It's plush and looks warm, and I just think I would be the most chic teacher with carpool duty!  Give it to me, baby!

The Sass Is Back!

Boy, oh boy, I have missed opening up my Blogger dashboard on the daily.  I have missed my camera timer, the dinky tripod, the interaction with my great friends of the interweb, comments and feedback from family and friends, everything!  You may ask, "Dear Merrymaker, what has kept you away for almost TWO months?  You don't write, you don't call!  What is this madness?"  And I will tell you, my dearest little chickens, that LIFE has happened.  I cheated on Robert Pattinson, had a baby named Maxwell, and married Justin Timberlake in Italy. What have you done recently? 

Wait, maybe I didn't do those things... but the point is I did not want to be one of those bloggers who take a break and constantly apologize for lack of updating.  That's no fun.  No one likes to read that.  I wanted to get my new school year figured out, and take some time to focus and be sure I was really ready to blog again!  Honestly, I have just been watching a ton ton of Gossip Girl.  I miss this hobby, and I am very much looking forward to getting back in to it.  I hope all my little dear chickens are out there and ready for some merrymaking! Thanks so much for all of the emails and texts checking up on me.  My favorite one might have been from a little blonde Southern blogging friend of mine, who told me "she missed my sass." I cannot wait to catch you up on my life and my fall wardrobe.  Well you know what, the sass is back and better than ever.
