i don't know what to do with my hands.

hey everybody!
come see how dorky i look!
(anchorman, anyone?)
I think it's my hair.
Not the best way to wear a headband on a windy day-
but i do like mixing stripes and leopard prints.
I like to break rules.

(i also like sweet + sour filled twizzlers.)

{jeans: ROSS, striped v-neck: OLD NAVY, vest: RAINBOW, necklace: SISTER'S ROOM :)

I can't remember which blog I was reading, but one blogger wrote about how she felt lazy when she wore her most comfy tee, even if she accessorized it.  I think that if it's comfy and cute-
YOU WON THE ENSEMBLE LOTTERY, yo.
sorry for yelling.
but- it's true.

SO enough of dorky me.
WISHFUL WEDNESDAY:
I wish for everything pictured below...
to be magically makeover-ed in my house.
now.
the most dreamiest bedroom ever
chairs i'd kill for... okay not really.
piggy plants for everyone
kitchen wonderland
So, if you were in the mood for a rambling (semi-interesting, grammatically incorrect full of color and dry humor) post...
YOU'RE WELCOME :)
Have a good (ash) Wednesday!
love love.

all is groovy

Happy Monday!
or not.
You choose.
This day keeps sneakin' its little face into the beginning of my week!
At least, I'm on Spring Break from class.
(which doesn't say too much for me, as I only have class twice a week)
But I'm a happy camper, none the less.
Any one else on Spring Break? Betcha got more fun plans than this girl.
(I still have to work everyday, boooooo.)

CHECK IT OUT:
Doesn't this floral print belong on heinous curtains or couches in Eric Foreman's basement?
I love it all the more for that.

I want desperately to wear my summery clothes.
Our weather just will not make up its mind.
I did however sneak this in, just to show winter that I am so over him.
It used to be a dress. Now its a shirt/skirt/party outfit.
This girl loves her parties.
Could I be semi-squiting any more in this picture?
I just like it because my hair is crazy colored.
cardi: GAP, belt: TORRID, jeans: LB, wedges: PAYLESS, floral shirt: RAINBOW.

I did a ton of DIY home improvement this weekend.
On top of chowing down on some delish cuisine.
I can't wait to post some before and after shots of my handy dandy work.
Tomorrow, March 8th, is Polka Dot Day at Everybody Everywhere.
So wear your dots + you can link up and check out everyone else's choice of polkas.
Beautiful.
OH, and here's a little ruffle to help you get through the Monday :)

I'm obviously in love.
Cheers,

wonder woman

So, after four hours of lack luster sleep (and pushing snooze for an hour), I finally got up this morning.  Then I rewarded myself for my good behavior (fantastic exam grades, ahem, i'm awesome) by skipping my second class and going window shopping.
Not the best strategy, but I'm a big supporter of rewarding yourself.
And shopping.

Boy, did I stand out today on campus.
I felt like I was rockin a serious wonder woman color scheme.
Like if she wore a cardigan.
Or pants.

I am seriously having some wishful wednesday blues because I want EVERYTHING pictured below. Reality checks will be cashed in later. Check out the beautifulness!

Chevron Hallway-- the inspiration for my new layout.  I'm digging it.

I am adding this to my ever-growing collection of headboard ideas on my inspiration list. It's definitely going to the top.

Have the BEST hump day ever- you deserve it.

easy like sunday mornin'

Items I am obsessing over this Sunday include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Wooden Headboard
I'm still looking for inspiration about what to do for a headboard.

I love the idea of a painted one- but I'm really digging this distressed wood mounted headboard.
With or without painted words, it's classy.

2. Wet Bar Area
I love the decor of this area.  The zebras, the sign, the lamps, all of it.

3. STRIPES!
This gal will go gaga for all kinds of stripes, but this dramatic dress is fabuloso.

 4. Hot Pink Bathroom Decor
White, pink, + mirrors make this bathroom girly + would definitely wake ya up in the AM.
via

5. Etsy pins
Isn't this the truth?!

6. Bright Geometric Lamps

These babies are mind-blowing.

I love all of the items.  Also, loving some more thrift store finds I picked up this weekend.
Can't wait to post more of my mix+ match outfits this week.

Are you following me on Facebook or Twitter yet?
Enjoy your lazy Sunday, I know I will.

glitz + glam

Minus the cat and insert a hairy black canine as my alarm clock and you will see what I was doing at 6am this morning.  Yep, it's been a long day.
Silly pup.
However, I did have the extra time to finish my housekeeping on the site.
Don't you LOVE the new layout?

On today's menu: glitz + glam.

Beyonce has embraced the bright pink lipstick trend, and pulled it off flawlessly.
Lookin' good, B.

The heels steal the show with these shoes.
Here's the run down:
Add gold embellished shoe, throw on LBD, and BOOM instant party.

I cannot resist dogs in jewelry.  And if you don't like this picture in one way or another,
then I don't like you.

Tangerine and Turquoise are the colors for spring and summer.  I've incorporate the two, plus purple and medium gray, in redoing my bedroom.  I found some inspiration with this tree as a painted headboard so that may become my next step on the redecorating ladder.
I'm short one upholstered leather turquoise chair.
Love love love.

Lastly, don't let your eyes fool you, it's not really bread.  Toast themed cork coasters are the rage at the Museum of Modern Art.  And I'd like to grab a loaf or two myself.

spread the word, my dears.

As we continue our beginner's housekeeping and redecorating here at Matters of Merrymaking (and I hope you like what you see), we are glad to have you follow us.  We are definitely proud of our blossoming little flower, so continue to tell your friends and share our link on your social media outlet.

just copy and paste this link and SHARE on Facebook, Twitter, or your poison of choice.

My next DIY project is to paint these pieces given to me by a family friend.  I love the furniture (nightstand, dresser, and bookshelf also) but the fake wood look does not go with my recently re-done room.  SO i am thinking of painting them a lighter gray than my walls.

My desk is in the same room, and it is black, so we will have to see what mood strikes!

I will post pics of the process, of course.
Any suggestions?
Are any of my followers embarking on some redecorating themselves?

Cheers, xx
