Sunday Crafternoons

Something about cooler weather and approaching holidays make me yearn for creating and crafting.
I was in search for a new desk, a small one, just for my laptop and crafts.
Nothing crazy.
Enter: One $15.00 desk from the thrift store:
BEFORE:

HELLO, possibilities!

Next step was choosing paint and talking my sister in to helping me pick a color. Easy peasy.
AFTER:
I have not bought new drawer pulls yet! Waiting to use my coupon at Michael's Arts and Crafts :)
We chose Valspar Brillant Gold spray paint! Aaaaand I love it. It's so shiny against my gray walls.

The pennant banner was another craft done the same day using paint samples.  You know- the ones you grab to see what color you would like on your walls.  I put it in an old frame that used to hold a mirror, but this was waaaay more fun to look at! Then, I used the left over paint samples to make this colorful art piece.
"Be Merry"
Now, I have the best creative space to work in!
All for under $30!

Have you guys been up to any great projects lately?
Share them with me!
Have a great Sunday, my little chickens.

i don't know what to do with my hands.

hey everybody!
come see how dorky i look!
(anchorman, anyone?)
I think it's my hair.
Not the best way to wear a headband on a windy day-
but i do like mixing stripes and leopard prints.
I like to break rules.

(i also like sweet + sour filled twizzlers.)

{jeans: ROSS, striped v-neck: OLD NAVY, vest: RAINBOW, necklace: SISTER'S ROOM :)

I can't remember which blog I was reading, but one blogger wrote about how she felt lazy when she wore her most comfy tee, even if she accessorized it.  I think that if it's comfy and cute-
YOU WON THE ENSEMBLE LOTTERY, yo.
sorry for yelling.
but- it's true.

SO enough of dorky me.
WISHFUL WEDNESDAY:
I wish for everything pictured below...
to be magically makeover-ed in my house.
now.
the most dreamiest bedroom ever
chairs i'd kill for... okay not really.
piggy plants for everyone
kitchen wonderland
So, if you were in the mood for a rambling (semi-interesting, grammatically incorrect full of color and dry humor) post...
YOU'RE WELCOME :)
Have a good (ash) Wednesday!
love love.

easy like sunday mornin'

Items I am obsessing over this Sunday include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Wooden Headboard
I'm still looking for inspiration about what to do for a headboard.

I love the idea of a painted one- but I'm really digging this distressed wood mounted headboard.
With or without painted words, it's classy.

2. Wet Bar Area
I love the decor of this area.  The zebras, the sign, the lamps, all of it.

3. STRIPES!
This gal will go gaga for all kinds of stripes, but this dramatic dress is fabuloso.
via
 4. Hot Pink Bathroom Decor
White, pink, + mirrors make this bathroom girly + would definitely wake ya up in the AM.
via

5. Etsy pins
Isn't this the truth?!

via

6. Bright Geometric Lamps

These babies are mind-blowing.

I love all of the items.  Also, loving some more thrift store finds I picked up this weekend.
Can't wait to post more of my mix+ match outfits this week.

Are you following me on Facebook or Twitter yet?
Enjoy your lazy Sunday, I know I will.

history buff

As I sat at my computer, I realized that I had every intention of getting started on my World War II paper like thirty minutes ago.
Instead, I watched a messy bun tutorial (mastered it), sent sister #2 an email about said tutorial,
+ caught up on some of my new favorite blogs.
Senior Year (round 2) is going to be the death of me.

So, here is some more procrastination.
(does it count if the distraction is topic related?)
thought so.

Vintage Vices:

Traveling was never so stylish.
The coat is perfect.

I adore these heels.
Completes any vintage outfit.

Vintage style pattern dresses are flattering and I love the colors together.

Hair + makeup of the 40s was so classic and feminine.
Beautiful.

The past holds so many treasures.
Now, maybe I'll be inspired to write this paper.
Maybe.

weekend wonders

So I feel like a complete slacker with no post the last few days, just been overwhelmed with school/work/sleep.
I am officially rejuvenated and happy to share some merrymaking.

We are hosting a pre-Mardi Gras party tonight, as I am not going to NOLA this year.
 (sadface)
I am totally excited to reveal the merriment on Monday.

But here is some fresh Saturday lovin' for ya'll.

How adorable is this necklace?  A colorful statement piece to complement any outfit.
I choose the white one, love love love.

I keep obsessing over these lacquered trays, seen here at Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Every girl needs a set of perfect vintage hair pins to come to the rescue on an imperfect hair day.

Love how these boots are organized in the closet.
Aaaaaand just plain envious of the whole closet below.

Have a good remainder of the weekend.
Here's a sneak peak of someone who is really looking forward to celebrating Fat Tuesday.

Oh, and I have 20 followers now.  This makes me so happy! Thanks to everyone who follows and reads and comments, it means SO much to me.  Cheers!

seven things.

Here are some items I am loving at the moment.

1. Gun-metal grays

I am in love with the Black Pearl shade from Chanel.  Gun metal grays are going to be huge this spring.

2. Bud vases

I got these bud vases from Target, and put some white roses in them to brighten up the room.

3. Rock Lamp

At the West Elm Outlet, I found this BEAUTIFUL lamp for 1/3 the original price.

4. Pier One Dishes

I got these dishes from Pier One on clearance and they're perfect to hold some of my favorite jewelry.

5. YSL Parisienne Parfum

I got this perfume for Christmas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

6. Vegetable bean spinach soup

via
I'm adding spinach to everything these days.  Give it a try, so delicious (& nutritious).

7.  Musings Journal

This journal is so cute.  It is from Davis Kidd and reminded me of my friend, Jessica.

I hope you liked checking out my favorite things.
Have a good Monday and be sure to appreciate the little things in life.
Cheers, B

tell me what ya want, what ya really really want...

Everyone loves some Spice Girls lyrics.
Here are some items I am lusting after, all of which would add some spice to my life.

I was gifted a knit headband like this one a couple days ago, and I am still trying to work it the right way.  However, it looks flawless on this model. Wish me luck on this experiment.

Perfect Valentine's Day shoes, from Nordstrom, that would spice up your favorite LBD.
via
I am going to attempt to recreate this simple, yet feminine and edgy look with my own wardrobe.  I love it and it fits in nicely with my new affinity for stripes.
via
I adore and hope some day to own such a wonderfully cute and organized bookshelf.  And the white deer head is a contemporary addition I enjoy.
via
Kate Spade iPhone 4 case, stylish yet sleek.  Nice work, Kate.

Oh, and I am going to have to try this cocktail soon, doesn't it look delish?

Strawberry Kiss
1 1/2 Absolut Vanilla
1/2 oz. strawberry liqueur
Splash CranPineapple juice
Combine & top with champagne
YUM.

Cheers, its almost Friday.
