weird weather + new boots

 {shirt: thrifted | vest: JC Penney | black skinnies: gap | boots: nine west | necklace: target}
It is 65 degrees this morning, with an expected low tonight of 24. Yeah, I know... I don't get it either.
I got this shirt yesterday at my new favorite thrift store, The Salvation Army Family Store, in Bartlett, TN.  It's really clean and in a great (HUGE!) facility.  If you're in the Memphis area, I reccommend checking it out!  My mom is going back on Wednesday (half off everything day) to grab me some skirts!

Speaking of MOM,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

i chose gray, mom is rockin' red.

Yesterday I treated the woman that birthed me to sushi, shellac mani/pedis, and a shopping extravaganza (new boots for me)! We had such a good time!
it's WINDY TODAY!!!!
In case you missed it, here's yesterday's Merry Monday Must-reads!

Bloggers Do It Better: Sequins

I know I am juuuust about a week late on posting this outfit, but I promise I was saving it for something very special.  Today I am linking up with Kristina's BLOGGERS DO IT BETTER at Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly.  If you can't tell by my disco-worthy get-up, this round's theme is SEQUINS! How perfect for NYE! On top of the sequins/sparkles, this outfit culminates a lot of my favorites.  Your best jewels, YSL red lips, neutral chiffon pleats, black opaque tights, + ankle booties with a stacked heel...
it's like a five course fashion meal for a blogger. :)
It is a merrymaker's duty to bring the whole she-bang to an end of the year  blowout party....
{pleated skirt, black cardi, gold necklace: target | sequin top: thrifted | tights: TJ maxx
| boots: LB | bracelets: dots, LB | watch: MK | gemstone ring: silpada}

I hope you guys enjoy this post and be sure to check out all of the other lovely bloggers at BDIB at Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly... This was the first thing I wore in 2012, it sets prrrrretty high standards, but I have a feeling the best is yet to come...

Sunday Crafternoons

Something about cooler weather and approaching holidays make me yearn for creating and crafting.
I was in search for a new desk, a small one, just for my laptop and crafts.
Nothing crazy.
Enter: One $15.00 desk from the thrift store:
BEFORE:

HELLO, possibilities!

Next step was choosing paint and talking my sister in to helping me pick a color. Easy peasy.
AFTER:
I have not bought new drawer pulls yet! Waiting to use my coupon at Michael's Arts and Crafts :)
We chose Valspar Brillant Gold spray paint! Aaaaand I love it. It's so shiny against my gray walls.

The pennant banner was another craft done the same day using paint samples.  You know- the ones you grab to see what color you would like on your walls.  I put it in an old frame that used to hold a mirror, but this was waaaay more fun to look at! Then, I used the left over paint samples to make this colorful art piece.
"Be Merry"
Now, I have the best creative space to work in!
All for under $30!

Have you guys been up to any great projects lately?
Share them with me!
Have a great Sunday, my little chickens.

Flower Pin-teresting

More "cheating" today, folks!
But as you assured me- everyone does it, so no worries here!
If you follow me on Pinterest, you saw me pin this picture:
via pinterest
And if you don't Follow me on Pinterest... you should!
Like I threatened-
I stole one of my dad's old work shirts and did my own thing with it.
I used the flower to cover up the name on the shirt... I wish I had this pin.
That certainly would have done the trick.
===================================================
It was also intensely hot (and sunny...hence the shades and the weird eyes below, so this shirt will just be hanging out until winter.  I took these pics Saturday morning to go bike shopping with my sisters.
I got a purple Columbia trek bike, more for the workout than the looks, I guess.
I wish I could tell you I've been burning up the trails- but we have had severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings the past two days and I have barely been outside, much less cruisin'.

I picked up a lot of great items over the last few days- tops, shorts, shoes... I can't wait to show you them! Again, when the rain stops... I'm on it.
I hope the weather is treating you lovely where you are!
Oh, and my new clutch says hello... he loves you too!

If you have been around a while, you may know I mention my little Ozzy dog quite a lot.
I love the man... he's great. AND TALENTED! I entered him in the ModCloth Bow-WOW Contest, through YouTube.  Voting is not up to the public, but if you'd like to visit the site and check him out, or comment, he would love it.  He works hard, y'all.
What a diva.
Here's the vid:

Thank you for being a friend,

déjà voo doo

Don't let my outstanding French knowledge distract you from the fact that I wore brights and (different) leopard flats yesterday.  I went to Marshall's last night while waiting on a friend for dinner, and this little orange cardi just jumped in my arms and begged to come home with me.
Waaaay too forward.
All in all, we have had an amazing 18 hours together.  I love you, RLL cardigan.
(especially your buttons, wink.)
We have a bright future ahead of us.
If you like accessorizing like a little girl or Katy Perry...
(obviously I am both one or the other)
Then you'll love my clutch I found at the thrift store yesterday.
That baby set me back a whole $3 and she was not as needy as the cardigan,
 but she was cheaper, indeed.
I bought some great stuff, and am having wild ideas of doing a VLOG haul!
Thoughts? Yay, nay, may-bay?
They take me very seriously at work, y'all.
Planning summer camps can be tough, the only prescription is more fruit.

HEY YOU!
yeah... you...
Have the best day ever, okay?
