Grind Forth

 {skirt: handmade | top: old navy, borrowed | vest: unknown | necklace: simply chic | bracelet: target}

I only got one decent picture last night, but considering how excited I was it's no wonder!  We went to watch the Grizzlies play the last season game, and they WON!  So, now we have home court advantage for the NBA playoffs.  Not too shabby, Grizz.
What do you chickens have planned for this weekend?
I hope it is something overwhelmingly fabulous.  I will have the most mundane and boring weekend ever full of standardized tests and babysitting.  Saving up for a super special trip in a month, so it's worth it! ;)

Grind Forth!

pretty dresses & college degrees

This weekend, I received my Bachelor's Degree in History. It was such an amazing time of celebrations, tons of friends and family, and good cheer.  I ate great food, drank yummy drinks, and watched my Grizz beat OKC in OT! What what!

One of the best parts of the weekend? Well... besides getting my diploma, I GOT A NEW CAMERA!
I had been using a Fujifilm little dinky dinky camera, but my sisters (I have the best sisters ever, have i mentioned that?) went in together and bought me a Canon Powershot!
I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
I can't wait to learn how to take it off AUTO, and learn how to work it in manual and go crazy!
These pictures already look SO much better. And I finally have a camera that can take numerous shots in a row! Hallelujah!

Now on to the most important part of this post... that DRESS, I mean, HELLO!

This is my second ASOS dress and it was chosen for this specific occasion.  I love it, the print, the shape... it's a little short-ish on me, but with flats it's totally summer approved! Two HUGE paws up from this tiger.
And (below) as you can obviously tell I'm still working out some kinks in the timing of the new camera:

Thanks SO much to everyone who voiced concerned for me and my family upon hearing of the flooding in Memphis. It means SO much to me.  Fortunately, we live in one of the highest points in the city and are safe from the raging Mississippi, but there are areas in downtown Memphis and Arkansas that are flooding and my heart goes out to those who have to evacuate their homes.

Thanks again for thinking of me, little chickens.  I hope you all had the most wonderful weekend and to all of my mother lovers out there... you rock, and belated mother's day wishes to you and your moms, too!

grizzly bears & great outfits

This may be one of my most favoritest outfits ever.  I loved wearing it, I loved posing in it, I loved having a heart attack watching the Grizzlies games in it.
Seriously, if you are following me on Twitter, I apologize/take credit for participating in the massive city-wide live tweet of local fans last night.
It didn't end quite how we imagined, but FRIDAY night it's grizz-ness time.
I got this white thing, I guess it is a sweater, but it's light weight and sheer, on clearance for $12,
 I didn't try it on before buying.
It could have been awful, but I LOVE IT.
My dad even told me he liked it. (score 1 point for Pops!)
It's comfy and quirky- and WHITE.
It's on my (short) list of things to style for the Pretty Shiny Sparkly white-out challenge.
{ABOVE:}
Yes, I am actually loosing my balance, whilst attempting to walk.
Awesome.
{BELOW:}
The short time during which the thunderstorms and tornado warnings stopped, I snapped these pics- you can see it getting dark again behind me.  My thoughts and prayers with everyone affected or harmed due to the crazy weather lately.

Meow, meow...
Love ya chickens, have a great Thursday!
The royal wedding and the weekend are both so close, I can almost taste the decadence.

grown ups

via
This afternoon, I will be buying and facelifting my first grown up bicycle.
(Although I hate to admit my Marc Jacobs spring items did not come in on time, so I won't be able to look quite as fashionable as the ladies above)

I am pretty excited to get it and ride it, maybe get a bell?
More than that, I will be able to get around town on the newly designed and opened Memphis Greenline.
Any bike/biking/bicycling tips?

Other than that, I would like to extend a big fat thumbs up to the Memphis Grizzlies, who are in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, (12 years, I think).
They are 1-1 with the San Antonio Spurs, and game 3 is tonight.
GO GRIZZ GO!
