Come Together

graphic tee: torrid // cardi: dkny // boyfriend jeans: torrid // flats: nine west
necklace: accessory auctions // sunglasses: calvin klein

Boyfriend jeans, graphic tee, cardi, and flats... my new favorite go-to grab! Inspired by this post y my girl Kelly, I grabbed this new jeans and styled them for the first time, and I actually love it!  I was so anti-boyfriend jeans until I just took the plunge and tried them on.  Now I have officially learned not to judge a trend by the way it looks on a shelf/mannequin/Katie Holmes.  You just have to give it a go!
I am in the market for new leopard print shoes, I wore these down last year!
I love these!

// The lyrics on the shirt are from one of my favorite songs by the Beatles, but my heart belongs to the Aerosmith version.  Listen below and improve your day by 715%.
Happy Tuesday!

Seven Layer Dressing

maxi skirt (dress): target // gingham top: target // flats: nine west //
military vest: old navy // necklaces: accessory auction

Get your layers on, girl! I take the privilege of layering very seriously.  I have to be flexible in needing to shed a layer in mid-day.  In college, one friend commented on my outfit, asking how many layers I was actually wearing... I've toned it down a bit since then though.  I feel much more "dressed" when there are more elements to my outfit.  Today it is just dress, shirt, vest!  I can't wait until the temps cooperate and I can break out my scarf collection.  In the meantime, we are having really great evenings with windows open and pleasant mornings of coffee on the patio.
Oh yeah, and this vest?
We are ready for another beautiful fall/winter season together.
What are your favorite go-to layering pieces?  Buying any new ones this season?
I would love to get a new vest like this or this to add to my collection.

Blue & Gray

cardigan: target (old) // dress: asos (here) // purse: target (here) // boots: nine west (similar)
necklace: gift // ring: silpada, etsy // shades: calvin klein via tj maxx

Yesterday morning, we went to grab a delicious and nutritious breakfast at my favorite breakfast food spot near the U of M campus.  If you live in Memphis, then you know that Brother Juniper's has it GOING on!  Great food, the best service, and breakfast potatoes so good I thought about writing a country song about them. It had been WAY too long since I had dropped in, and I love all of the changes popping up around my alma mater.  It wasn't until I was loading these pics that I noticed I am actually wearing my college's colors! BLUE AND GRAY!
Go Tigers go!
:)
Oh, and by the way...

Sweet Home Casual Friday

jeans: dots \\  lynyrd skynyrd graphic tee: torrid \\ spiked gladiator sandals: nine west \\ cardi: target

This was such a casual outfit, I hesitated to post, but with all merrymaker honesty... I like this look.  It was thrown together five minutes before walking out the door, which has truly become my trademark routine.  I think I am obsessed with graphic tees!  Add a really cool design or a fun, semi-retro band on it, and I am all over it like a mango margarita.  I love the comfort and the versatility of a great graphic top!  With a skirt or jeans, you can have a fun outfit full of personality.
(I have a One Direction shirt burning a hole in my chest of drawers, just begging for the right moment to shine.  Like a fine wine, it has to age.)

What are your go-to grabs for a super
casual and comfy Friday?
ENJOY YOUR MERRY WEEKEND!
Disclaimer:  If you wear a tee with a lady in a star spangled bikini on it, just prepare yourself for second glances.  Your hair looks fine, it's the shirt doing the talking.

Denim & Paisley

 {paisley printed dress: charter club via Gwynnie Bee | denim jacket: jc penney | boots: nine west | belt: lane bryant}

This dress is normally something I would never pick out! It's a little too preppy and the real test of that was wearing it to work and the certain people who LOVED it! It is so funny to me!  The preppy dressers totally adored the print and the cut.  I'm a paisley fan, sure, so I took a chance with it by putting it in my closet on Gwynnie Bee.  I loved wearing it with the boots and the denim jacket, and it was fun playing prep for a day! Now, I won't define my every day style in to one certain genre, but I think I like my preppiness to just be a dash or a sprinkle in the outfit.
Do you define your closet with one word? Or do you make up an ensemble with a dash of this and a dollop of that?  Tell me, my chickens!

Lots of Birds & New Specks

{bird print tunic: simply be via gwynnie bee | leggings: old navy | boots: nine west | earrings: bid girl}

I'm obviously a sucker for a good bird print.  Whether it be a dress, tunic, or top... I grab it right up.
I think my closet is one half leopard print and the rest is made up with tribal prints, birds, and black.
Also, there are not enough opportunities to wear my 4 inch heel fur lined faux hiking boots... WHAT IS THAT ABOUT? Maybe some of new blogging besties and I can find a solution to that? Ladies?
Be sure to come by tomorrow because the le winner of On Your Mark! will be announced.
Who do you think made the top of my list?

Have you guys heard of Firmoo glasses?  I had seen them reviewed by some of my fellow bloggers, and I was thrilled when they asked me to pick out a pair and review myself!  I was born blind as a bat! Glasses since first grade, contacts since fifth.  The glasses at Firmoo are extremely affordable and they come to your mailbox in a case with a leather pouch and glasses screwdriver! Fancy!
I picked out this style, and filled in my RX online.  I loved the quality of the frames, and even though they are plastic, they are a fine quality. (They do non-prescription glasses and sunglasses, too!)  The best part? Firmoo has a "First Pair Free" program and you can get your own pair of glasses FOR FREE from the company with just paying shipping!  I think that it is a great opportunity to try a new style and take a fashion risk!!  Get those nerdy glasses that your inner hipster heart has been craving!
Go visit their site, and let me know what glasses you LOVE!
Disclaimer: I was sent these glasses free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Day Off Style

 {sweater:  i ♥ ronson, via jc penney | pants: rainbow (!!!!) | top: Calvin Klein | belt: LB | boots: nine west | earrings: target | side braid: my new favorite :) }

Happy Hump Day! I wore this outfit on my off day Monday and it was amazing to take my time getting ready and actually pick out clothes, while sipping coffee.  I have to be AT WORK at 7am on the dot everyday, so I rarely play around in the AM.  Normally, I am lucky if I leave early enough to fly through Starbucks (okay, I make time for this....) but actually cooking breakfast (not a granola bar) and actually seeing sunlight before leaving the house was faaaaaabulous!  Makes me super envious of the full time bloggers who get to look fancy and blog from Starbucks. What a dream!

What is your favorite thing to do with a day off?
I'll admit I snuck in a nap and some Netflix-ing, too.  Ahhh, the life.

Get Lacey

 {lace dress: ross | wedges: nine west | necklace: borrowed | sunglasses: franco sarto}

I wore this to a farewell breakfast for a family that is very dear to our hearts, they are moving to Japan! We will miss them so so so much!  Then little sister and I hit up the movies so I could see Rock of Ages AGAIN! Seriously, I love it.  80s tunes and a musical?  I'm there.

^ Ain't she cute? ^

I am definitely going to miss that little guy.
The movie actually makes me like Tom Cruise, go figure...

zesty crackers

Hey there, sunshine.
Matters of Merrymaking rules:
1. Cardigans are necessary for the workplace.
2. Ditch them as soon as you can.
3. Post pictures from last Thursday and try to fool everyone, because your sunburn is so embarrassing.
Today is my sister's 21st birthday!
*Happy Birthday Sarah!*
I can't believe my little shadow is twenty-one.
I remember when she used to follow me to school and cry when she had to go to her separate class last year in elementary school.
Hah, just kidding :)
I will be working alllll day and then going straight to her house for a celebration!
For our family celebration, she wanted to go to a local Native American/Archaeology museum in town.
We had the best time ever, and it was really different and fun.
Silly sister.
(That is sister with her canvas I made her, pictures of the outside of the museum, and the card from me as well... Wow, I'm a good sister)
It is summertime weather here for sure.
I spent the weekend doing TONS of outdoor activites (including, but not limited to:)
patio lunches
getting sun (burnt) by the pool
local crawfish festival
margs and trivia at a local taco shop
visiting a archalogical museum with my family (where we learned to throw spears, weird, right?)
and cooking out on the patio, again.

I am so exhausted, I need a nap.
aaaaand some vitamin e for this wicked sunburn I am rocking.
I am so tired, I must be rambling.
Once the coffee and allergy meds kick in, I hope to make sense.

If you are wondering about the title of this post... I have no words.

march madness

Ahhhh.  I haven't blogged ALL month :)
Where has the time gone?
I feel like three years have past since Sunday night.

I love March
St. Patty's Day, Spring Break, Daylight Savings, etc.
Aaaaaand I am a whole month closer to sweet, sweet graduation (May 7th).
Glorious!

It was the most beautiful day ever outside.
Cue the sunglasses.
I got a little fancy and wore my favorite wedges.

And my shirt got wrinkled, because I couldn't take pics as early as hoped.
chambray shirt: LB, pants: Gap, necklace: sister,
printed wedges: nine west, sunglasses: betsey johnson

My shirt has POCKETS.
They come in handy and they are just pure wonderful.

Speaking of pure wonderful-- I finally found the python printed bag my heart was yearning for, so much so that I (temporarily) replaced my last purse relationship.

You can find it here, at a reasonable price, and your heart will be happy, too.
I love love love it.
