While perusing another fashion/lifestyle blog... I came across the most ingenious idea!
Below, you will find my ACCENT VLOG!
So, basically, you video yourself saying a variety of words to show how you say them!
Also- you answer some questions. Being from the South, I am very interested in hearing how some of y'all may say these words so I hope you post a vlog too!
Accent VLOG
Directions are as follows:
The instructions are to say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?
Ahh loved it! It doesn't surprise me that your dialect sounds very familiar since we're from neighboring states, and I agree.. you have some southern-ness to your dialect, but I can think of much more southern dialects than yours. I did one of these videos in March: http://theplussideofme.com/2011/03/07/dialect-experiment/
ReplyDeleteP.S. I say "clicker" too! I'm so glad it's not just my weird family :)
Awww love it! You are definitely not as country as folks from my side of the state. Believe it or not I don't have a webcam but that is now on my to buy list so I can do this accent vlog. It's too fun!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. I laughed every time you laughed! And you have a little accent but it's definitely not as strong as maybe I'd have expected! ;) You're so cute! :D
ReplyDeleteRebecca- So glad I am not the only person who says clicker, haha, kinda felt like a dorky dork.
ReplyDeletejess- I can't wait to see yours, get that web cam!
Dani- You're a doll! Thanks.
I couldn't help but notice that sometimes it seemed like you had a southern accent and at other times you didn't. But either way, you do have one, you can't deny it! lol
ReplyDeleteWe sound so different, but we answered most, if not all of the questions the same way! I am trying to be a genius and figure out how to upload mine into the blog post. EEk.
ReplyDeleteAh this is so fun! I'm so excited to do it! :) Thanks for picking me, I love stuff like this!
ReplyDeleteOMGGGGG you're the cutest thing EVER and I want to hug you and be your best friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing out loud at "I don't knowww. We don't call it anything."
We make the same facial expressions, too, which makes me like you even more!
I posted my accent VLOG tonight. Also, I seriously love your blog so much. I'm your newest follower!!!
